Nicole Simone OUELLETTE

Funeral services for Hearst resident Nicole Simone (née Ouellette) Picard, 38, of 645 Allen St. were held Oct. 19, 2002. She died Oct. 13 from a vehicle collision in Opasatika which also claimed her daughter Stéphanie and son Denis. Born April 15, 1964 in Smooth Rock Falls, she came to Hearst in her mid-teens and had worked as a Fortier Valu-mart cashier since last winter. She enjoyed children, baby sitting, family life, outdoor activities, fishing, and the family cottage at Hanlan Lake. Predeceased by her father Joseph Ouellette of Smooth Rock in 2000 and father-in-law Évariste Picard of Hearst in 1998, she leaves her husband Jean-Guy Picard of Hearst, her mother Françoise Ouellette of Departure Lake, and older son Rémi Picard of Hearst. Also surviving are: her sister Sylvie (Denis) Martin of Hearst; brothers Roger (Joanne) of North Bay, Claude (Cyndi) of Reno Nevada, Jacques (Ginette), Daniel (Janine), and Gabriel (Murielle), all of Hearst, and Gaëtan (Stéphanie) of Kapuskasing; and her mother-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. Rev. Rémi Lessard officiated the service at the Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption Cathedral. Internment is still to be determined.
