Bob Blanchard, 50 Ottawa St., Kapuskasing, died at Sudbury Regional Hospital-Laurentian Site on Oct. 12, 2002. He was 70 years old. Mr. Blanchard was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Kapuskasing. He worked as a maintenance electrician at Spruce Falls. He was a member of the Kap Nordic Skiers, Kap Loonatics and was an avid carver and cross-country skier. Mr. Blanchard was predeceased by his wife Judith. He is survived by sons Mike (Dawn) and Steve (Vicky), both of Brampton and Chris (Francine) of Prince George, B.C.; his lady friend Shirley Beckett of Kap; sisters Norma Hemenway and Doris Nakashoji of Kap, Ruth Wallace of Wasaga Beach and Jean Blanchard of North Bay; and three grandchildren Meghan, Benjamin and Mackenzie. Rev. Roger Pronovost will officiate the funeral service tomorrow at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's church. Mr. Blanchard will be interred at the Kapuskasing Cemetery.
