Georgette TANGUAY

Georgette Tanguay, Kapuskasing, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Sept. 30, 2002. She was 80 years old. Mrs. Tanguay was born Jan. 12, 1922 in Quebec and moved to Mattice as a baby. She was a long-time resident of Mattice until moving to Kapuskasing in 2000. Her and her husband ran a diary farm. She was a member of the Mattice UCFO and enjoyed knitting, weaving, cooking, playing cards and spending time with family. Mrs. Tanguay was predeceased by her son Benoît. She is survived by husband Amédée, sons Florent (Laurette) of Kap, Réal (Marge) of Kitchener and Ronald (Jane) of Uxbridge; daughters Bibianne (Maurice) Leclerc of Mattice, Madeleine Paquette of Kap and Louise Tanguay (Régis St-Pierre) of Hearst; sister Lorette of Kap and brothers Rosario of Toronto, Victor of Gatineau, Quebec and Simon and Luc, both of Kap. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. at St-François Xavier Church in Mattice. Mrs. Tanguay will be interred at the Mattice Cemetery.
