Hearst resident Simone Ida (née Collin) Robitaille, 81, of the Villa Belle-Rivière apartments died at Notre-Dame Hospital, July 22, following complications. She had last worked in women's wear sales at the Elliot Lake Hudson Bay store. Described by family as a sociable, religious, generous, affectionate, and resilient person with a sense of humor, she enjoyed her privacy and solitude but could still be the 'life of the party'. She enjoyed cards, volunteer church work, travelling, music, meeting people, swimming, and fishing. Predeceased by her husband Léo Robitaille of Alexandria in 1983 and numerous brothers and sisters, she leaves her son Daniel Robitaille of Hearst, a sister Françoise Cassivi of Le Gardeur, Quebec, granddaughter Chantal Robitaille of Hearst, and grandsons Stéphane of Hearst and François Robitaille of Edmonton. The Salon Lafrance Funeral Home arranged for cremation, July 24, at Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. The family plans a memorial service for late September at Belle-Rivière. Interment is to be in Alexandria.
