John Ross of 26 Drury St., died at Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing on June 28, 2002. He was 59 years old. He was born on June 17, 1943 in Brampton. He moved to Kap at the age of two. Mr. Ross worked as an Electrician at Spruce Falls. Later he worked as a relief foreman, and he also worked as the mill's Thermographer. He was a member of the United Church. He enjoyed competitive curling, and mixed curling. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, and an executive officer (secretary Treasurer) for many years. Mr. Ross also enjoyed reading, doing cryptic crossword puzzles, working on mathematical problems, fishing, and spending time at his cottage at Remi Lake. He was predeceased by his parents Mary (Kirkwood) and Charles (Rusty) Ross. He is survived by his wife Rosemary and daughter Heather of Kap, sisters Pam (Ted) Broadhurst of Kanata and Carol (Roger Lennard) Ross of Toronto and seven nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held July 2 at the United Church. Rev. Brenda Lumsden performed the services. Cremation took place at Hillcrest Crematorium in Matheson. Interment will be at the Kapuskasing Cemetery later in July.
