Jacques Groulx, 312 Government Road, Kapuskasing, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on March 7, 2002, after a short illness. He was 75 years old. Mr. Groulx was born April 1, 1926 in Chelmsford and arrived in the area in 1963 as a journalist. He also worked as a millwright at Spruce Falls. He was a co-founder of the Centre des Jeunes and enjoyed sports, tennis, fishing, golf and reading. Family members say he was a loving and devoted husband and father. Mr. Groulx was predeceased by his parents Louis and Jeannette, stepmother Rose Blais, and siblings Jean (Ida), Gabrielle Lavoie, Bernadette Cashmore and Madeleine (Raymond) Chartrand. He is survived by wife Dolorès, children Louise (Bert) Fortin, Marc (Maria), Nicole, Julie, Rémi (Claire), Ivan (Louise) and Danielle (Jim) Croteau. Also surviving are brothers Pierre (Estelle), Paul, Alcide, André and sisters Marie Bishop, Berthe MacFarlane, Cécile (Rhéal) Doyle and Claire (Jean Guy) Parent. Mr. Groulx had 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Rev. Louis-Phillipe Bélanger directed the funeral service at Notre Dame des Victoires Church.
