Leona Ryder, 13 Devonshire, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Feb. 20, 2002. She was 89 years old. Mrs. Ryder was born Dec. 31, 1912 in Ottawa. She worked as a medical records librarian. She was a member of the St. Mark's Women's Guild, the Jubilee Singers, the church choir and volunteered at the literacy centre. She enjoyed knitting, playing bridge, travelling and curling and fenced in her early years. Mrs. Ryder was predeceased by her husband Dudley. She is survived by daughters Arlyn (Ron) Cooks of Atlanta, Georgia and Andrea (Gordon) Hahn of Kap; son Dallas (Jeannette) of Toronto; sister Ruth Chapelle of Ottawa and sisters-in-law Liette Barkley and Audrey Barkley, both of Ottawa. Mrs. Ryder had five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Rev. Frank Mason directed the funeral service at St. Mark's Church. Mrs. Ryder will be interred at the Kapuskasing cemetery.
