John Parker HICKS

John Parker Hicks SACKVILLE ,NB - John Parker Hicks age 86, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002 at The Moncton Hospital. Born in Midgic, NB. He was a son of the late Frank and Lillian (Estabrooks) Hicks. John worked as a shoemaker for many years in Sackville and was also owner and operator of the Sackville Bowling Alley. He served on the Sackville Town Council for 9 years. John enjoyed life and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed gardening. He attended the Salem Baptist Church. John is survived by his wife the former Neta Smith; two step sons Reginald (Violet) Wheaton of Mississauga, Ont. and John (Gladys) Wheaton of Melrose, NB; two daughters Diann (Richard) LaRose of Ontario and Sandra (George) Anderson of Sackville, NB; two sisters Clara Collins of Maccan, NS and Stella Goodwin of Amherst; one brother Walter Hicks of Amherst; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife the former Jessie Bulmer; three brothers Lorne, Henry and Leslie and two sisters Fanny Demont and Alberta Holt. His remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home , 89 Bridge Street, Sackville , NB with visiting on Thursday, October 17, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2pm from Salem Baptist Church, Sackvile with pastor Morris Mills officiating assisted by nephew Rev. John Holt. Interment will take place in the Sackville Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the Salem Baptist Church or the Charity of your choice.
