Robert (Bob) Sears 1924 - 2002 UPPER SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Robert William Sears, age 78, occurred suddenly on October 18, 2002 at his home. Born on July 9, 1924 in Upper Sackville, NB, he was the son of the late Wesley and Mary Belle (Lerette) Sears. Bob was a farmer all of his life and his greatest passion was for his horses. He worked as a night watchman for the government and was employed at Marshland Rehabilitation. Bob enjoyed square dancing with his wife as part of the Tantramar Twirlers in Sackville. He is survived by his wife Georgie H. Sears of Upper Sackville, NB; four sons, Robert Jr. and James of Sackville, NB, Daniel of Moncton and Reynolds (Margaret) of Jolicure; eight daughters, Lillian (Ken) Trudel of Ottawa, Ontario, Beverley Johnson of Halifax, NS, Mary Belle Fawcett and Gladys (Robert) Estabrooks of Sackville, Marjorie (Terry) Bastarache of Moncton, Helen Sears of Dorchester, Aileen Sears and Phyllis (Peter) Wheaton of Midgic; one brother, Wesley Sears of Amherst, NS; four sisters, Louise Babcock and Julia Bulmer of Sackville, Greta Worthing of Bridgewater, NS and Mildred Lynn of Vancouver, BC; 24 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Harold, Vernon and Beverly; one sister, Irene. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (364-8188). Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2002 at 2 pm from the Upper Sackville United Church with Rev. Dr. Jamie Gripton officiating. Interment will take place in the Four Corners Cemetery. Donations in Bob's memory may be made to the Upper Sackville United Church or to the charity of ones choice.
