STURGEON, WILLIAM (BILL) The death of William (Bill) Sturgeon of Fredericton, husband of Mavis (Evans) Sturgeon, occurred on Saturday, August 31, 2002 at York Manor. Born in Hampton, NB, he was the son of the late Earl and Jean (Ryder) Sturgeon. Bill was a retired Staff Sargeant with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Heather (Ron) Goddard of Kelowna, BC and LindaAnn Sturgeon of Winnipeg, Man.; two grandchildren, Sarah and Aaron; two sisters, Earline Cassidy of Fredericton and Sandra (Cal) Davidson of Oromocto; a special cousin, Ruby (Phillip) Mills and several nieces and nephews. Although there will be no visitation, a Funeral service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Wednesday, September 4, 2002 at 2 pm with Rev. Isabel Black officiating. Interment will be held in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredericton. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Foundation - Palliative Care Unit or to the Parkinson's Society would be appreciated by the family.
