Hugh Lovett Cameron, CD BADDECK, NS - September 12, 1936 - November 24, 2002. It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Hugh Cameron, of Alderwood Nursing Home, Baddeck, formerly of Shore Rd. after a long battle with Alzheimer disease. Hugh was a loving husband, father and grandfather, he leaves to mourn, his wife of 45 years, Darlene (Ranger) Cameron; his five daughters, one son, and nine grandchildren, Bunny (Adel) Louka, Calgary, ALTA; Dawn (Larry) Branswell, Alex and Laura Cranbrook, B.C.; Theresa (Roddie) MacLeod, Carrie, Baddeck; Corrina (Roy) Cormier, Meghan and Lacey, Belmont; Hugh Jr. (Allison), Ryan and Niki, Calgary, ALTA.; Heather (Robert) Wilson, Tabatha and Charlie, Alymer, ONT.; brothers, Sandy and Winston; sisters, Joan Roberts, Alice Livingstone, Kaye Maloney. Hugh was predeceased by his parents Nina (Lovett) and John Alex Cameron; brothers, Reid and Richard. Hugh served in the Armed Forces, 1955-1971, serving in Germany and Cyprus. Hugh was owner/operator of Cameron's Service Station and also worked as a commissionaire at the Bell Museum until his illness. He was past President and a life time member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 53, Baddeck; past member St. Mark's Lodge No. 19, Baddeck; past member of the Order of Eastern Star, member of the Arm of Gold Senior's Club, member of Greenwood United Church and served as an Elder. There will be no visitation by his request. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 2:00pm Friday, November 29 in Greenwood Church, Baddeck, Rev. Karen Lynch and Rev. Louis Ihasz officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Family flowers only. Memorial donations to Alderwood Nursing Home Alzheimer Unit or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to MacAskill's funeral home, Beddeck.
