Hazel Clara Bateman Hazel Clara Bateman, 84, of The Drew Nursing Home, formerly of Shediac Road, passed away Friday, December 7, 2002 at her residence. Born June 15, 1918 in Lewisville, NB, she was the daughter of the late James C. and Cora L. Hopper. She is a member of St. Martin's In The Woods Anglican Church and had been active in the Girl Guides in her earlier years. She is survived by her husband, Gordon; two daughters, Judy Welling (Ken), Nancy Dow (Sam) all of Shediac Cape; one son, Kevin Bateman (Judy) of Kentville, NS; one sister, Merle MacDougall of Moncton; seven grandchildren, Sharri, Darlene, Larri, Stephen, Kim, Amanda and Christopher; one step grandson, Jacob; 13 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one brother, Jim Hopper; one sister, June Stuart. There will be no visiting hours by request. The funeral service will be held from the St. Martin's In The Woods Anglican Church on Tuesday, December 10, 2002 at 12:00 pm, burial will be held in the church cemetery. Following the service there will be a reception in the church hall.
