Donna GILLIS

Donna Burke 1930 - 2002 SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Donna Burke, age 72, of Sackville, N.B. occurred on Saturday, December 21, 2002 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on March 20, 1930 in Londonderry, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Jack MacEachern and Ida (Robar) Gillis. Donna was a member of The Fort Beausejour Chapter IODE and was treasurer and member of the Sackville Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed life to the fullest. Donna is survived by one son Don (Monique) Rutherford of Dieppe, N.B.; one sister Sheila (Bernard) Bonner of Kingston, Ontario; a special niece Donna (Bedford) Ward of Westcock, N.B.; two grandsons Colin and Wade Rutherford; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Angus in 1981; one daughter Karen Rutherford in 1975; two sisters Norma of Montreal and Alma of Sackville, N.B.; three brothers Russell of Alberta, Leonard of Londonderry, N.S. and Danny of British Columbia. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (364-8188). Visitation will be held on Monday December 23, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Campbell's Funeral Home, from where a memorial service by the Sackville Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary will be held at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be held Tuesday December 24, 2002 at 11:00 am from the funeral home with Father Kevin Stockall officiating. A time of tea and fellowship will be held following the service at Campbell's Funeral Home, with refreshments provided by the Ladies Auxiliary of Branch #26 Royal Canadian Legion. In lieu of flowers donations in Donna's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
