Mélas Hébert Mélas Hébert, 78 years, husband of Doris (Bourque) Léger of Churchill Street, Moncton, passed away suddenly at his residence on Saturday, December 28, 2002. Born July 12, 1924, he was the son of the late Pierre Hébert and Emma Babineau. He worked for School District #13 prior to his retirement in 1989. He was a dedicated volunteer with the Food Bank for many years, was a 3rd degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Council 6468 and a 4th degree Knight with the Mgr Arthur Melanson Assembly, was a member of the Golden Age Clubs of Notre-Dame-deGr~ce and Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing cards and pool. He enjoyed life immensely, was a devoted family man and took great pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of becoming a great grandfather recently. Besides his second wife Doris (Bourque) Léger he is survived by his two daughters: Janice Hébert, Ginette (Paul) Buotte both of Moncton; step children: Gisèle (Jean-Roch) Goupil of Moncton, Lorraine Léger of Calgary, Paul Léger and Jocelyne Léger of Ottawa; grandchildren: Carole and Daniel Buotte; step grandchildren: Karine, Chantal and Adriane Goupil; great grandson Justin; four sisters: Aline (Alverie) Dupuis, Valida (Hervé Gagnon) Belliveau both of Moncton, Sara Bourgeois and Stella Hébert both of Montréal: five brothers: Théodore (Béatrice) of Dieppe, Fred of Oshawa, Albé (Thérèse)of Grande-Digue, Albert (Bernadette Desroches) of Irishtown, Stanley (Marie-Paule) of Moncton and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Rita LeBlanc (1979) and by a sister Lina Primeau (1996). Resting at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900). Visiting hours on Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday 10 a.m. until time of departure 10:45 a.m. The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday January, 2, 2003 at Notre-Dame-deGrace, Roman Catholic Church, Moncton. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery. At the request of the family, Mass cards and memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Association would be appreciated.
