Viola Stymiest Noble EUREKA, CA - Viola Stymiest - Noble passed away in Eureka, California on December 12, 2002, at the age of 94. Viola was the oldest child of Adam Stymiest and Agnes Johnston. She was born in Tabusintac and moved to Loggieville at the age of four. She graduated as a registered nurse from the Malden Hospital Training School in Massachusetts, where she continued nursing until 1938, when she married a childhood friend, Harold Noble. They had two children. She continued nursing at hospitals in Detroit, Florida, and California before retiring. Viola always felt very close to her very large family and childhood friends and visited "Down Home" many times over the years. She was a Christian and at times played the church organ and sang in the choir. Viola had to endure Alzheimer's disease for the past several years and resided near her son at a nursing care home in Eureka, California. Her wit and spirit held her in high regard by the staff of the care home where she lived in recent years. Her last visit to New Brunswick was in 1995. Viola is survived by a son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Marion Noble of Arcata, California, a daughter Dianne and son-in-law Terry Byrnes of Davie, Florida, her sister Eunice "Tun" Gilchrist and a brother Donald Stymiest, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Sarah "Nillie" MacCallum of Tabunsintac, her husband of 35 years,Harold Noble, and brothers Carlyle "Bud", Jack, Bobby, and Herb
