SPINA, Gemma Marie (nee Gagnon) Former resident of Sudbury during & after WWII. Peacefully at Markham Stouffville Hospital on Saturday, March 16, 2002, in her 84th year. Gem, beloved wife of the late Addy and dear mother of Lise, Charles and his wife Debbie, Marc, and Ron and his wife Susan. Loving grandmother of Amy, Lara, Nicholas, Nicole and Michelle and much loved sister of Louis-Benoit and his wife Cécile and Jean-Charles Gagnon and his wife Hélène and the late Simone. A lover of Canada and its natural beauty, Gem’s many accomplishments included the establishment of the family retreat at Sugar Lake, her northern sanctuary, where her friends and family often gather. Also devoted to lifelong learning and as a retired teacher obtained her B.A. in History at the University of Toronto in 1995, at the age of 76.
