John Edward Hill October 04, 1925 - July 03, 2002 (Veteran Of WW II, North Nova Scotia Highlanders, Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree Council #9652 St. Paul the Apostle, Royal Canadian Legion Branch #631, retired Alcan 1985, Corps. of Commissionaires 1999.) At home with his family, after a brief but courageous struggle. Born Louisbourg, Nova Scotia, son of the late John and Olive Hill. Beloved husband and best friend of 54 years to Harriet (Kelly). Cherished father of Beverly Huff (Ken), Stephen, Carol Tremblay (Albert), all of Wilton, Kenneth (Beverly King), Greg (Donna) all of Kingston, David (Sharon) of Belleville. Devoted grandfather of three granddaughters, six grandsons, and one great granddaughter. Survived by sister: Sarah Burke (late Joseph) of Louisbourg, Nova Scotia, brothers: Robert (Mayzie) Riverview, New Brunswick, Howard (Helen) of Toronto and predeceased by an infant son Ronald Ian, and brother Donald. Friends will be received at the Township Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 435 Davis Dr. (Waterloo Village) on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul the Apostle Church, 1111 Taylor Kidd Blvd. on Saturday July 6 at 12:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.
