Luisa Mary Colonna (née D'Onofrio) July 12, 1914 - January 02, 2002 On Wednesday January 2, 2002 peacefully in her sleep at the St. Catharines General Hospital. Luisa Mary Colonna (nee D’Onofrio) of St. Catharines in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Serafino Colonna (1990). Loving mother of Anna Maria Ranalli and her husband Umberto of Fort Lauderdale FL and Joseph Colonna and his wife Barbara of St. Catharines. Dear grandmother of Laura, Mark and Gabriele. Great grandmother of Melissa, Megan and Madisson. Luisa had a unique passion for life, she was a member of the C.W.L. for over 50 years and had a remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel like family. This was only surpassed by her will and desire for life, as she courageously survived Breast Cancer for over 40 years and Diabetes for over 35 years. Family will receive friends at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at The Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Saturday January 5, 2002 at ten o’clock. Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers 7:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
