Alfonso Travaglini July 28, 1925 - September 20, 2002 It is with great sadness that the family of Alfonso Travaglini announces his death on Friday, September 20, 2002, in his 78th year. He will be truly missed by his loving wife, Elia and his devoted children, Simonette and Carmen Pagliuso, Laurette and Bob Carnegie, Mary and Aldo Berlingieri. Beloved Nonno of Paul, Stefan, Blake, John Paul, Robert and Daniella. He has gone to join his brothers, Anastasio and Valchiero and his sisters, Eulalia and Livia. He leaves behind many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law in Italy and many nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. He is remembered by his many friends who have been a source of support and comfort over the last few years. Alfonso retired from Stelco after 26 years. His passion for Bocce brought him to the World Bocce Championship in Yugoslavia and France as a member of the Canadian Team. He was a long time member of II Gruppo Marchegiani as well as the Famee Furlane Bocciofila and the Sons of Italy. Family and friends will be received at the Friscolanti Funeral Chapel 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Saturday, September 21st, 2002 from 6-9 p.m. and on Sunday, September 22 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Monday September 23rd at St. Margaret Mary Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Many thanks to the wonderful care of Dr. Fried and Dr. Wright and the staff in the Dialysis Unit, Emergency Unit, Cardiac Care and Intensive Care of St. Joseph’s Hospital over the years.
