PAYNE, Rhonda Colleen 52 of Halifax and Peterborough Ont. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at the new Halifax Infirmary QE11 Hospital on June 5, 2002. Born in Curling Nld she was the daughter of Rod Payne and Evelyn Colbourne. Rhonda enjoyed a career in the Theatre as an actor, writer, and director in Newfoundland, Ontario and Nova Scotia. She authored the play "Stars in the Sky Morning" also "A Tale of the Hardships of the Women on the Northern Peninsula of Nfld." Rhonda also travelled extensively living and working in London, England, Africa and Sri Lanka. Rhonda will be remembered by her family and friends for her exuberance for life. Survived by two sisters Alisa and Cathy, four brothers David, Michael, Ian and Rod Jr. Visitation will be held in the J.A. Snow Funeral Home 2666 Windsor St., Halifax www.funeralscanada.com/homes/snow on Friday 7-9 and Saturday 2-4, 7-9. Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday St. Marks Church, Halifax, Archdeacon Sue Moxley assisted by Rhonda’s Uncle Rev. Calvin Pretty officiating. Cremation to follow. A Celebration of Rhonda’s Life will be held at a later date in Peterborough, Ont. and Kingsburg Beach, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Women’s Theatre and creativity center in Halifax, Peterborough, and Newfoundland. 6/7/2002- ID436153 - Peterborough Examiner
