WRIGHT, Dr. John Lennox (Jack) - Peacefully at hishome on Thursday, September 5, 2002 in his 92nd year. Devoted husband of the late Constance Mildred (nee: Pringle). Loving father to Mary, Jim and David and the late Heather and Bill. Proud grandfather of Heather, Tom, Katie, Connie, Eliza, Emily, Ian, Nick and Andrew. Great-grandfather of Daniel, Winston and Lauren. Pre-deceased by brother Archbishop William Wright and twin Cannon Joseph Wright. John was a graduate of the University of Toronto, Trinity College where he earned a B.A. and was later awarded an honorary Doctorate of Sacred Letters. A Veteran of W.W. II, John was awarded the Efficiency Decoration. He was the recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal, a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Corporation, University of Toronto. John was a respected Housemaster at St. Andrew’s College, Aurora (1938-1964) and the founding Headmaster of Royal St. George’s College, Toronto(1964 1978). His memory lives on in two sayings that became as familiar as his pipe and wry humour: "Manners Maketh Man" and "have a care". A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 10th at St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St., Peterborough with visitation one hour prior to the service. A Memorial Evensong Service will be held at the Royal St. George’s College Chapel at a later date (time to be finalized). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund, Royal St. George’s College Foundation (120 Howland Ave., Toronto, M5R 3B5) or the St. Andrew’s College Foundation (15800 Yonge St., Aurora, L4G 3H7).
