HOEY, Mr. Joseph Chester - Naval Veteran of WWII, served on the H.M.C.S. Nene (Frigate), Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #77 and Lakefield Lions Club. Died peacefully in his 79th year. Beloved husband of 54 years to Helen Hoey (nee Crough). Loving father of Chris and his wife Debbie of Buckhorn, Grant and his wife Kim of Regina and Judy and her husband Wally of Peterborough. Loving Poppa Joe to Terry, Scott, Blake, James and Jessie. Dear brother of Rita Biers (Ron), Barb Courneya (Murray) and Pat Fryer (Jim). Brother-in-law Doug Hubble and Sister-in-law Aileen Hoey. Predecease by his parents Joseph Hoey and Jean Moore, and brothers Jim, Basil and Terry, and sisters Margaret and Helen, and sister-in-law Marie Hoey. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews, and the Crough Family. At Joe’s request, there will not be visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Ressurection at Immaculate Conception Church (Rogers St.) on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at 11a.m. Father Asisclo Podelino celebrating. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Fairhaven Foundation Fund or the Renovation Fund of Immaculate Conception Church would be appreciated by the family.
