CHRISTAKOS, Anastasia J. Anastasia J. Christakos, a native of Sudbury, passed away peacefully in Niceville, Fl., on Sunday, May 5, 2002. Beloved wife of Dr. James G. Christakos for 53 years. Loving mother of Gregory (wife Starla) and loving grandmother of James and Michael, of Niceville, Fl. Eldest daughter of James H. and Antonia Christakos of Sudbury, both predeceased. Sister of Penny (husband Dr. I. Voudoukis) of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mch, Maria and Gloria (husband Jim Bazos) both of Toronto as well as brother Harry, predeceased by brothers Nick, George and Socrates. She will be fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Helen S. Christakos and Catherine G. Christakos of Sudbury, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Before her marriage, Anastasia was active with the Sunday School, Young Adults of the Church of the Epiphany and a District Leader of the Girl Guides in the Sudbury area. Prior to relocating to Florida, she served multiple terms on the Alabama State Board of Garden Clubs, the Girl Scouts, Sunshine Club, and Library Friends Committee. Anastasia was an accomplished artist and was frequently called upon to pen official proclamations and city documents. Anastasia was always happiest when visiting her birthplace, Sudbury. A Greek Orthodox funeral service and burial was held in Niceville, Fl., on May 9, 2002. 5/25/2002- ID385301 - Sudbury Star
