RODD, "Joan" Olive Jean (nee Colbourne) In loving memory of "Joan" Olive Jean Rodd (nee Colbourne), 76 years, of Levack, who passed away Thursday afternoon, May 23rd, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Memorial Site. Born in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, she married Bud Rodd in 1947 in Halifax. Joan came to Levack from Halifax in 1948. She was a member of St. John’s United Church; in younger years she belonged to the U.C.W. and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Royal Purple Lodge. A keen curler, she was a very active member of the Levack Curling Club, having served on the club’s executive. She was an accomplished knitter, loved the sun and enjoyed dancing. She spent many happy times at the family cottage on Windy Lake. Joan was devoted to her loving family. Beloved wife of Bud Rodd of Levack. Loving mother of Keith (wife Ida) of Toronto and Wendy (husband Brian Nowicki) of Kimberley, BC. Cherished grandmother of Brianne, Matthew, Erica, Sarah and Megan. Special aunt to Gary Mitchell (wife Kathy). Sadly missed by family in Newfoundland. Memorial Service in the St. John’s United Church, Levack on Friday, May 31st, 2002 at 2 p.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated. (Friends may gather at the church after 1:45 p.m. Friday.)
