YEO, Joan (nee Sutherland) In loving memory of Joan (nee Sutherland) Yeo, 74 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, June 20th, 2002 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she married Edward J. "Ted" Yeo in 1947 in Copper Cliff. Joan originally came to Copper Cliff as a young woman. During her life she had worked in the pharmacy at the Memorial Hospital and as a bookkeeper at Silverman’s and Cassio’s. Joan was a well respected and liked life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #564 Lockerby, having served as branch president. She enjoyed knitting and gardening. Joan will be remembered as an honest and hardworking person who was always quick to help others. Her many generous acts of kindness were done quietly and without fanfare. Joan truly made a difference in many people’s lives and the light of her memory will inspire and comfort all who knew her. Beloved wife and best friend of Edward J. "Ted" Yeo of Sudbury. Loving mother of Jack (wife Margaret) of Sudbury, Bill (wife Laurie) of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Douglas (wife Sandra) of Garson and Patricia (husband Gerald Brennan) of Kimberley, B.C. Cherished grandmother of Caroline (Fiance Jason), Megan, Chris, Bryan, Kendra, Brendan, Thomas and Melissa. Dear daughter of Edward and Catherine Sutherland predeceased. Dear sister of Kay Kerwin (husband Ken) of Toronto, Hazel Thow of New Market, Shirley Primeau (husband Leo) of Sudbury, John (wife Cathy) of Bracebridge and Jane Sullivan of St. Catharines. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Saturday, June 22nd, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Soul - Cancer Services would be appreciated.
