McNAMARA, Raymond J. In loving memory of Raymond J. McNamara, 67 years, following a courageous battle with cancer, passed away Saturday afternoon, July 27th, 2002 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born in Creighton, Ontario, raised in Levack, enlisted in the R.C.A.F. from 1951 to 1971, married Maxine Murphy in 1958 at uplands R.C.A.F. Chapel in Ottawa. Ray then served in Baden Salingner, Germany for 4 1/2 years then returning to North Bay where he worked at the Bomark Site, he then assigned to Bagotville, Que. Upon retiring from the R.C.A.F. Ray then joined the Canadian Pacific Railway working in many different areas retiring as a Rail Traffic Controller out of Toronto Union Station. Ray then returned to his beloved Northern Ontario where he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, gardening and enjoying his family and friends. The light of Ray’s life and legacy will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of his loving family and friends. Beloved and devoted husband of 44 years of Maxine (nee Murphy) McNamara of Val Therese. Loving father of Gerald "Gerry" (friend Belinda) and Deanne "Dee" both of Levack. Special grandfather of Jason Lappan and Briana Bailey. Dear son of John McNamara of Sudbury and Ruth "Rusty" (nee Koski) McNamara deceased. Dear brother of Ronald (wife Gerry) of Ottawa and John "Jack" (wife Connie) of Sudbury. Will be sadly missed by the Murphy family; Jack Murphy of Perth, Marnie Cunningham of Port Coquitlam, B.C., Roy Murphy (wife Ruth) of Simcoe, Barry Murphy (wife Sue) of Perth, Rita Gottdank (husband Bob) of Bradford, Fred Murphy (wife Donna) of London. Predeceased by his father and mother-in-law J.C. and Jean (nee Galvin) Murphy and by his sister-in-law Pat Lawrence. Sadly missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Levack on Wednesday, July 31st, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium, Sudbury.
