Sadly and unexpectedly, after a brief illness at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Verla Rosmond Young in her 80th year peacefully in the loving presence of her family. Beloved wife and best friend of Retired Air Commodore Charles G. Ruttan. Adored and adoring mother of Michael and Jo. Stepmother of Charles (Melinda). Devoted Aunt of Liz (Jamie). Doting grandmother of Jaymie (Erin) and Peter (Andrea) Cleveland. Step-grandmother of Cheryl (Ken), Debbie (Greg) and Carrie (Franco). Loving great-grandmother to Nicholas and Rileigh. Predeceased by her loving sister Doris. Forever the brightest star in her family's sky. She inspired all who met her with her vivaciousness, her wisdom, her constant delightful sense of humor, her compassion and her gentleness. She has been a priceless gift to us all. Visitation Tuesday, January 8, 2002, 7 to 9 p.m. at Kelly Funeral Home, 2313 Carling Avenue. Funeral Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel.
