Peacefully in hospital, Ottawa on Saturday January 12, 2002 James Robert Steel of Perth, in his 78th year. James was a veteran of WWII, Royal Canadian Signal Corps, retired employee of Bell Telephone and former clerk-treasurer of the Town of Maxville and Kenyon Township. He was predeceased by his parents James D. and Alice J. (Mundy) Steel. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Dorothy Mitchell of Perth, Muriel Stanley of Pickering, Marjory Scott of Dryden and Myrtle (Stan) Kuchinski of Covina California, his nieces, nephews and good friends. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Perth Tuesday January 15, 2002 from 10:00 a.m. until service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Maxville in the later spring on a date to be announced.
