B.A., M. Sc. Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 21, 2002 at Princess Margaret Hospital in her 66th year. Loving wife of Ralph Torney and daughter of Alberta and the late Ralph Arthurs. Mother of Beth Wood (Stephen), Allan (Debbie), Louisa Gamoyda (Steven) and Michael (Korene) and grandmother of Maryanne, Douglas, William, Jamie, Edward, Robbie, Dannielle, Jennifer, Anthony and Samantha. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Alberta Riexinger, Vivian Whelpley and Annabelle Arthurs and brothers John, Douglas, Howard and Robert. Ruth will be fondly remembered by her many friends and family. Friends may call at the "SCARBOROUGH CHAPEL" of McDougall & Brown, 2900 Kingston Road (east of St. Clair Ave. East) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service at Melville Presbyterian Church, 70 Old Kingston Road, on Thursday at 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Gore United Church, Thurso, Quebec on Saturday, January 26 at 1 p.m. followed by interment at the McGillivray Cemetery.
