After a courageous struggle with cancer, Andy passed away on January 24, 2002 in his seventy-eighth year. He leaves behind his devoted wife and partner, Magdalena "Madie", whom he adored; his five children Andrew (Lise), Ronald (Linda), Brian (Jane), Nancy and Thomas; his three step-children, Eric Kilbertus (Joan), Ellen Hersey (Scott) and Gary Kilbertus (Carol), sixteen grandchildren Nicholas, Julia, Andreas, Alexander, Jennifer, Kimberley, Stephanie, Christina, Laura, Paul, Jaclyn, Brent, Kelly, Brenna, Reed, Derek who will miss him dearly. He is predeceased by his father Andreas, his mother Elizabeth and his sister Mary. Andy unfailingly showed respect to everyone he met and was always kind and generous to anyone who needed his support. His legion of devoted family and friends is testament to his strength and character and continual good humour. He gave out of love, and without expectation, and everyone who came to know Andy was a better person for the experience. He loved sports and was an avid golfer and long time member of Wyldewood G.C. (Oakville), Oakville G.C. and Bear's Paw (Naples, Florida) where Andy leaves behind many friends. Friends may call at Kopriva Taylor Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road W, Oakville, on Friday January 25, 2002 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 47 Reynolds Street, Oakville on Saturday January 26, 2002 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Andy's family would appreciate donations in his name to the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. His family wants to express its deepest and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Gerald Skupsky and the caring staff, particularly those on the fourth floor who gave Andy such wonderful and dignified care.
