Of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2002, at the age of seventy-nine years. He was born in Poland. Edward is survived by daughter Alicja, son Ted, son-in-law Marvin Kwitko, daughter-in-law Brenda Zakrzewski and grandchildren Lara and Adam Kwitko and Lynn and Jill Zakrzewski. He was predeceased by his brothers Zbigniew, Tadeusz, Jerzy and his parents, Leokadja and Feliks. During WWII, he served since 1940 in France, U.K. and Italy with the Polish Armed Forces (in exile) as a Captain Pilot. He was awarded French, British and Polish decorations and was honorably discharged in 1948. Edward worked for 38 years as a mechanical designer with several Consulting Engineering Firms in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Montreal and Calgary. Many thanks to Dr. Man Chiu Poon and nurses at the Tom Baker Cancer Day Clinic for their dedication and care. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church, 2111 Uxbridge Drive, N.W. Calgary on Tuesday, January 29, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. The Montreal Gazette, 27-01-2002
