Ethel Mae SPENCE March 9, 1915 - December 7, 2008 SPENCE Ethel Mae Spence, age 93, formerly of St. Croix, Hants County, passed away on Sunday, December 7th, 2008, in the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born on March 9th, 1915, in Sweets Corner, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late William and Sophia (Dykens) MacLeod. She is survived by daughters, Dorothy (Eugene) Howard, Kentville; Joan (Percy) Woodman, Falmouth; Leola Riley, Windsor; Shirley Ann (Gary) McCabe, Aberdeen, Cape Breton; Faye (Fred) Taylor, Scarborough, Ontario; sons, Reginald Spence, St. Croix; Ernest (Shirley) Spence, St. Croix; 20 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Carmilla Spence, Massey, Ontario; Rose Spence, Windsor; sister, Shirley Shanks, Three Mile Plains; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, William and Sophia (nee: Dykens) MacLeod; she was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Frank Evans Spence (2001); sons, Frank Spence Jr., Eric Spence and Robert Spence; grandchildren, Robert Woodman, Andrew Brooks, Loren McCabe, Kimberly Rose, and Cathy McAlister; brothers, Walter, Roy, William, Gordon, Sid, Harry, Ronald and Dan MacLeod; also two brothers, Kenneth and Clarence in infancy; half-brother, Silas Caldwell. Visitation will be 6 - 9 p.m. Tuesday, December 9th, 2008, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 10th, 2008, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Karen Pearce officiating. Interment will be held in the Ste.
