HAWKSHAW, Allin 1921 - 2005 Born in Dalmeny, Ontario, the son of John and Lillian Hawkshaw. He assisted in working the family farm before completing his course at the Ottawa Teachers' College. He taught briefly before enlisting in the RCAF during the 2nd World War. He served overseas in England then in India as a pilot in a Beaufort squadron. He survived twice with his crew being downed in the Indian Ocean. After the war he continued in the RCAF in Canada flying a variety of aircraft including the Lancaster bomber. Following his retirement from the RCAF he served in the public relations department of a media firm in Toronto and later held a senior position in the Ontario Department of Agriculture. He retired to Langley, BC, where he lived until his death. He is survived by his brother Knox Hawkshaw (Barbara) of Brampton, ON, and predeceased by his sisters Aulda Wood (Wally) and Thelma Carter (John) and a cousin F/O Royden Bradley who died in 1944 while piloting his Lancaster over Danzig. He is also survived by two cousins, Dorothy Kennedy (Victor) and Joyce MacDonald (Colin) of Ottawa. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 10/22/2005
