BLEWETT, Wilfred Collins RCAF - P.O.W. In Ottawa at home on Friday, October 21, 2005. Beloved husband for 67 years of Joan (Barnes). Dearly loved father of Gale (Claude Gendron) and Neil (Paulette). Loving grandfather of Michael (Roxanne) and Matthew Gendron and Neil Blewett Jr. and loving Papa of great-grandchildren Cheryl, Chantal, Shayne Douglas, Samantha and Nicolas Gendron and step-papa of Garrett and Preston Davies. Wilfred served in the RCAF in Bomber Command during WWII and afterwards as a finance officer after earning a Chartered Accountant degree. He joined the RCAF Benevolent Fund in 1967 and retired as manager in 1982. Wilf was an avid curler and curled for many years at Rockcliffe and RCMP Curling Clubs. Wilfred was born in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, the last of the family of 4 sisters and 3 brothers. He is the brother-in-law of Norma Blewett (Harold) and Ronald and Mignon Barnes of St. Thomas, Ontario. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, on Tuesday, October 25 from 12 noon until service time in the Chapel at 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the RCAF Benevolent Fund, 359 Kent St., Suite 202, Ottawa, Ontario, K2P 0R6 would be appreciated.
