Eugene Evehan Pronozuk December 31, 1929 - November 03, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Glen Eden Funeral Home (Winnipeg) Peacefully with his family by his side, on Thursday, November 3, 2005 at the age of 75 years. Eugene was predeceased by his father Walter in 1985; his mother Mary in 1996; his son Michael in 1997; and brother-in-law Al in 1999. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Jean; daughter Carol (Gary); grandchildren, Gary and Mikaela; one brother Orie (Marilyn); in-laws Stephie Arron, Pat and Dave Bryan; also by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Eugene grew up in Point Douglas, went to Norquay and St. Johns schools and St. Pauls College. Dad lived a full life, both professionally and privately. He worked for many years, prior to his retirement, at E. H. Price Ltd. He enjoyed his job and had many friends there. Eugene was a kind, reserved gentleman, one of few words and great pride. When dealt a rare, progressively debilitating neurological disease, later in life, he didn't complain, he carried on making the most of each day. Eugene loved to putter around in his garage, or at the cottage, always up to something. Fixing this or that, chopping wood or just re-organizing his things. If you needed to borrow something, chances are that Eugene had it . He was a capable handy-man a 'jack of all trades', who would lend a helping hand, or an intelligent suggestion, to many, both family and friends/neighbours over the years. His completed projects stand as a fitting memorial to him. Eugene looked forward to get-togethers with friends and at a time when physical activity was hard for him he enjoyed short bus trips with them. The cottage was a special place dad enjoyed. It brought the family together and many good times were had there by all. His family meant everything to him. Losing his son Michael in 1997 took a lot out of him over the years .... they are now once again united. His pride and joy were his two grandchildren. He enriched their lives IMMENSELY, and he will be dearly missed as they grow up. They were blessed to have had him in their lives ... we all were! We wish to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital (Unit 5, 3rd floor and the I.C.U.) for their care and compassion. God saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb... So He closed his weary eyes and whispered... Peace be thine. A private family service will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, donations can be made to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation Inc., 2300 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB, R2V 3M3. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 Main Street 338-7111
