Dorothy Keddy (née Armitage) August 19, 1920 - November 09, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Jenkens Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre Mrs. Dorothy Keddy, aged 85 years, resident of Versa Care passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at her residence. She was born on August 19, 1920 in Nova Scotia, growing up on the family farm and attending local schools. Dorothy married John Keddy on May 15, 1945 in Halifax. Her husband was in the air force so they traveled extensively in Canada and overseas. Dorothy was very involved in Girl Guides in both Canada and overseas. She was a life member of Girl Guides and the United Church Womens. Church life was very important to her. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, baking, knitting and camping both in Canada and in Europe. She was very involved with everything she did. Dorothy spent many happy hours entertaining family and friends. Survived by her daughter Sandra (Lou) Wassenaar; sons John and James (Sarah) Keddy; grandchildren Bill (Manya) and their children Amberelyn, Tabitha and Trandis Wassenaar, John (Ivy) and their children Andrew and Miranda Wassenaar, Dorothy Wassenaar, Patty (Brad) and their children Alex, Zachary and Keona Wood, Elizabeth Keddy, Matthew Keddy, Jeremy Andrews; brother Ernie (Corrine) Armitage; sister-in-law Rose Armitage and numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by step-mother Hilda Wiley, half-sister Karen and half-brother Kenneth and their families. Predeceased by her husband John (1982); grandson Michael Wassenaar (1976); her parents Arthur and Amy Armitage; brothers Jack, Arthur and Fred and sister Beatrice (Mel) Dauphinee. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Keddy will take place in Kensington, PEI. A memorial service will be held in Thunder Bay at a later date. Memorial donations to the Girl Guides of Canada International Fund, Alzheimer’s Society, Versa Care Residents Fund or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
