MARTIN, MILDRED - Mildred Martin, age 94 years, born January 14, 1911 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick died quietly on November 19, 2005 at Marshall Gowland Manor. Mildred was predeceased by her father Patrick Martin, her mother Annie Michaud Martin and her step-mother Mary (Mammie) McClusky Martin. Mildred was predeceased by her brother Alfred Martin and his wife Cecile, of Thetford Mines, Ontario. She is survived by their daughters, Marlene Martin and her husband Ron Savoie of Ottawa, and by Barbara Martin of Quebec. She is predeceased by half-siblings Woody Martin of Florida, Ricky Martin of Toronto and Ruth (Martin) Aikens of Toronto. Mildred is survived by her half-siblings Herb Martin of Sarnia, Donnie Martin of Edmonton and Margaret (Martin) Cote of Edmonton. Mildred is also survived by many much-loved nieces and nephews and by her sisters-in-law Shirley (Sealey) Martin and Norma (Kertson) Martin. Mildred was raised in Grand Falls, New Brunswick and worked as a pharmacy clerk at Wiley's Drugs. She learned her trade "on the job" and then attended the University of New Brunswick and graduated with a Pharmacy Degree. Mildred worked as a Pharmacist in Saint John, New Brunswick at Wasson's Pharmacy and ended her career when she retired from Shoppers Drug Mart. Mildred was also an avid bridge player and had a wide circle of friends. Mildred moved to Sarnia 15 years ago and has received wonderful care as a resident of Marshall Gowland Manor for the last 13 years. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict's Church, 1011 Oak Ave., Sarnia on Friday, November 25, 2005 at 10:30 am. Following the inurnment at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum on Glenn Allen Drive, lunch will be served at the St. Benedict's Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Marshall Gowland Manor, 749 Devine St., Sarnia N7T 1X3 or to the Alzheimers Society.
