Loyd A. Dixon 1922-2005 Lloyd A. Dixon 83, of Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, after a brief illness. Lloyd was the son of the late Lorne and Ethel (Russell) Dixon of Doaktown, NB. Lloyd served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. On discharge, he settled in Moncton and was employed with the T. Eaton Co. Ltd and later with the City of Moncton, retiring in 1987. Lloyd was a quiet man who enjoyed the outdoors. Lloyd's remarkable talent for memorization and reading poetry installed in his family a love for reading and poetry. He had a great appreciation of folk and country music. Lloyd will be deeply missed by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis (Hamilton) and his five children, Michele Jonas, Grand Greve, Cape Breton, Timothy (Dawn), Calgary, Alan (Allison), Toronto and Ouagadougou, Patricia (Ken Summers), Minasville, NS, Carol Nightingale (Daniel), Grand Greve, Cape Breton; 11 grandchildren, Meredith (Francis) LeRoux, Bond and Jessie Jonas, Luke, Matthew and Joel Dixon, Adam and Eric Nightingale, Abbie Rose Summers, Reid and Olivia Dixon; great grandchildren, Adrian and Lauren LeRoux; nephews, John Dixon (Debbie) and David Dixon (Nancy). Predeceased by one brother, Russell. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. No visitation by personal request.
