Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late James and Mary (Day) Nicholson. Karen is survived by her loving partner, Colin Facey; brothers, Robert (Phyllis), Fredericton; Michael (Myrna), Timberlea; Ronald (Marg), Londonderry; sisters, Catherine (Herman), Fenton, Digby; Lynn (Theriault), Cornwallis; several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews; her lifelong friend, Mary, and her devoted companion, Aries. She was predeceased by brother, James at birth; sister, Betty; and nephew, Jimmy. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax.
