EDWARD JOHNSON Edward Johnson, 69, of Thunder Bay, Ont., passed away Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at Versa Care Nursing Home in Thunder Bay. Edward was born July 4, 1936 in Seine River First Nation to John and Alice Johnson. He lived in Seine River all of his life until a stroke forced him to move to Rainycrest in Fort Frances, Ont. in 1998. He relocated to Thunder Bay during the winter of 2004. As a young man, Edward worked as a logger and guided part-time. He loved being outdoors and going camping. Edward also was a pow-wow drummer for many years and had still enjoyed attending the local pow-wows. He leaves behind his children, Brenda Skead of Fort Frances, Ont., Leslie Johnson of Toronto, Ont., Eugene Johnson of Thunder Bay, Ont., Karen (Kennedy) Fiddler of Sandy Lake, Ont., Barry Boshkaykin of Minnesota, and Edmond Councillor of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his mother, Alice Johnson of Thunder Bay, Ont.; sister, Mary (Emile) Morin of Thunder Bay, Ont.; sister-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Seine River First Nation, Ont.[ as well as many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by his father, John; brother, John Johnson Jr.; and sister, Frances Johnson. A traditional service was held Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005 at the Seine River First Nation Gymnasium. Elder Ralph Johnson will officiate, with interment in the Seine River First Nation Cemetery. A wake was held Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at 5 p.m. at Seine River First Nation Gymnasium. The active pallbearers were Sheldon Skead, Matt Skead, Mark Skead, Conrad Johnson, Perry Perreault, and Dwayne Johnson. The honourary pallbearers were Dave Spencer, Kennedy Fiddler, Myron Johnson, and Ira Johnson. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O.
