THELMA VICTORIA LAYCOX On Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, with her family at her side, Thelma Victoria Laycox went to be with Christ. Thelma was born June 23, 1913 in St. Vincent Township, Ont. to Henry and Mary Adams. She was raised in Owen Sound, Ont. and graduated from teachers’ college in Stratford, Ont. She moved to Rainy River District in 1950 and she taught school for more than 30 years in Dance, Madsen, and Blue Township. She loved teaching and spending time with children. In April, 1955, she joined the Off Lake Covenant Church. In her spare time, Thelma enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She leaves behind her children, Christine and husband, Gordon Busch, of Fort Frances, Ont., Joyce and husband, Donald Munro, of Stratton, Ont., and Marvin Laycox and his friend, Laura, of Cochrane, Ont.; 17 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Velma Callery, Blanche Blouin, and Dolly Laycox; brother-in-law, Alyn Laycox and wife, Irene; cousin, Bob (Dorothy) Snell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thelma was predeceased by her parents; sisters, Eva Adams and Cathleen Adams; brothers, John Callery and Tredgert Adams; and husband, Morell Laycox. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at the Off Lake Covenant Church in Blackhawk, Ont. Pastor Ken Johnson will officiate, with interment in the Emo Cemetery in Emo, Ont. The pallbearers will be her grandsons, Darrel Laycox, Rodney Laycox, Peter VanDrunen, Greg VanDrunen, Marvin Caul, Wesley Caul, and Jamie Busch. The honourary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Darlene Jourdain, Val McChestney, Vickie Grenier, Rhonda Chieff, Colleen Barnard, Bev VanDrunen, Lorna Strom, Linda McQuaker, Alice Busch, and Jackie Busch. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Off Lake Covenant Church, RR #2, Emo, Ont., P0W 1E0 or the Canadian Cancer Society, P.O. Box 444, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
