CURRIE, Mildred "Millie" Mildred "Millie" Currie (nee Giroux), beloved wife of the late Harold Edmund Currie, died November 1st at the age of 74 of early onset Alzheimer's. She died peacefully at Almonte Country Haven. Mom will be remembered dearly for her selflessness and her devotion to her large family. Loving mother of Eric (Sue), Jane (Andy Wurzler), Nancy (Charles Jahn), Alfred (Anne), Matthew (Judy), Margaret (Clay Wilson), Valerie, the late Frances Susan and Elizabeth Grace. Cherished grandmother of David (Ingrid) and Chad (Heidi) McTernan, Jocelyn (Sean Malloy), Lesley, Kerry (Amanda), Lauren, Lisa (Jeff McKay), Jennifer (Pascal Thiverge), Michael and Joshua (Becky) Currie, Matthew (Monica), Aaron, Nathan, Martha, Ben, Gabriel and Andrew Jahn, Tyler Sauve and Shawn St. Louis. Great-grandmother of Marc Hannah (Stacie), Alex, Connor, Kelsey, Katie, Spencer and Sara McTernan, Nicolas and Aidan Currie, Kade and Kian Malloy, Joey Thiverge and Ewan McKay. Step-grandmother of MacKenzie Norring and Daniel, Paul, Jasmine and Zoe Terwilliger. Dear sister to the late Florence (Bert Campbell), Henry (Goldie), Emile (Lois), Gerald (Bina), Norma (Alonzo Bastien), Velma (George McNicol), Pearl (Don Patterson), Jean (Delmar Hueston) and Robert (Pauline). Aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews and other family too numerous to list. Friends may call at the Valley Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 115 Rivington St., Carp, on Friday, November 4th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Baird's Grant Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing may make memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society or the Almonte Country Haven. Special thanks to the staff of Almonte Country Haven who went out of their way to make Mom's final years as happy as possible. We feel that the staff provided Mom with just that, a haven, where she made great friends. We thank everyone at the home for their wonderful care and for providing her with a feeling of peace.
