SHIRLEY JOHNSON (TURYK) nee Seijari January 29, 1942 - January 7, 2005 JOHNSON - It is with deepest sorrow that the family of the late Shirley Johnson announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully with her loving family at 3:17 am on Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Kirkland and District Hospital. Shirley was predeceased by her parents, John and Geraldine (nee Leblanc) Seijari, husband Walter Turyk, children; Mary-Ann, John and Phillip Turyk, step-daughter Nancy Iwaniuk and great granddaughter Kelsley Vandeburge. With great love and admiration she is survived by her husband Ralph Johnson, devoted daughter and son; Shirley Turyk (fiancé David Dickinson), Dennis McIntyre (wife Juliet), step-children Anita McIntyre, Olga Turyk, Cathy Boyle and Mary Vandeburge, granddaughters Veronica Harwood, Nicole McIntyre, and several step children and great grandchildren; wonderful friends Patricia and Ernest Rodgerson and godchild Glen Harwood. Shirley was a long serving member of the Kirkland Lake Lions Club and Member of the Royal Canadian Legion. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette and French Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12, 2005 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service to follow in the “Teck-Hughes Chapel” of the Monette & French Funeral Home. Shirley will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery in the spring of 2005. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Shirley’s memory to the Kirkland District Hospital Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, C.C.A.C., Timiskaming Palliative Care Network or the Farley Foundation.
