1933 - 2008 Stewart Leslie Hay, husband of Marilyn Hay, of Winnipeg Cres., of the Miramichi Retirement Community, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Sunday morning, October 5, 2008, at the age of 75. Born in Chatham, on February 6, 1933, he was the son of the late A. Stewart and Ivy (Budd) Hay. Leslie was in the Military (Cdn Army) for 26 years, serving his country in various locations around the world. He enjoyed the outdoors and had a great fondness for horses. He was an adherent of Calvin presbyterian Church, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Marilyn Juniper; two daughters, Lori Hay (Mike Gadou), and Diana Gauvin (Pat), all of Miramichi; five grandchildren, Cheryl, Michael, Tammy, Chris and Tanya; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Mallen, of Toronto, Ont. and Alice Lynch, of Baie Ste Anne; one brother, James Hay (Rose), of Weldfield Road, Napan; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one infant grandchild, Cheryl Lynn; one sister, Margaret McEacheron; two brothers, Lorne and George Hay. By his request, there was no visitation at the funeral home. A public memorial service held from Adams Funeral Home Chapel, 140 King St., Miramichi, on Saturday, October 11, at 11 am, conducted by Rev. Derek Krunys. The music for the service was supplied by William Sweezey and the hymns were "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Interment was in Miramichi, N.B. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Miramichi Chapter of the S.P.C.A., or any charity of the donors choice, would be appreciated by the family.
