The death of Mr. Emile Joseph Goguen of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Friday, December 12, 2008 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital at the age of 73. Born in Chatham Head, NB, he was the son of the late Edmund and Henrietta (Richard) Goguen. Emile attended the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and was retired from Atlantic Wholesalers. He was involved in the Chatham Head Oldtimers Association, Chatham Head Tigers Baseball and caretaker of the Father Smith Manor in Chatham Head. He was also a member of the NB Baseball Hall of Fame. Emile is survived by; two daughters, Tammy Boudreau (Pat) of Calgary, AB, Brenda Landry (Reg) of Miramichi, NB; two sons, Tony (Joan), Emile (Jr.) (Shawna) all of Miramichi, NB; one sister, Loretta of Chatham Head, NB; six brothers, Alyre, Lucien (Bertha), Fidele all of Chatham Head, NB, Roy (Judy) of Nelson Miramichi, NB, Manuel of Chatham Head, NB, Everett (Lillian) of Nelson Miramichi, NB; six grandchildren, Ryan, Nolan, Molly and Madison Goguen, Billy and Brittany Boudreau and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Emile is predeceased by; two sisters, Mary and Alma; two brothers, Leo and Anthony. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, on Saturday from 7 to 9 PM and on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, December 15th, 2008 from the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Chatham Head at 11AM with Father Bob McGuire officiating assisted by, Father Leo Sullivan. Music was provided by, organist; Eileen Butler and members of the choir. Readers were; Margaret Sullivan and Lisa Sullivan. Eulogy was given by; John Sullivan. Words of Remembrance by; grandchildren, Nolan and Molly Goguen. Active pallbearers were; Edgar Girouard, Gary Goguen, John Sullivan, Brent Sullivan, Wally Henderson and Daryl O'Donnell. An honor guard was formed by; the Chatham Head Tigers and Chatham Head Oldtimers Association. Burial will take place in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery later in the spring. In Emile's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church or the Chatham Head Minor Ball Association.
