GORMAN, James Bernard Alan (September 26, 1917 - July 19, 2004) Died Monday, July 19, 2004 peacefully at home in Ottawa. Son of the late Florence and Bernard Gorman, survived by his beloved wife Lesley (nee Clair), son Peter (Sheila), grandsons Jeremy and Peter all of Moncton, NB; son Robert of Toronto. Alan was a brother of the late Robert and Birt and is survived by sister Olive Neville, Renfrew; sister-in-law Gertrude Clair, her son Desmond and dear nieces and nephews. Alan served as an officer in the Signal Corp in WWII and later enjoyed a long, distinguished career in the Federal Department of Immigration, where he retired as Director of Enforcement. Friends may call at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home (235 Kent St.) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be at the Canadian Martyrs Church (100 Main St.), of which Alan was a founding parishioner on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery.
