Much loved son of the late Milton and Annabel Bird of Georgetown. She leaves several nieces and nephews. She was born in Canada, the daughter of Elise & Exilda (La Flamme) Therrien. She was a shoeworker at the former Kingsbury Heel Co. in Spencer-Brookfield, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Spencer. The funeral will be held Saturday, August 27 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 60 Maple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Welton Joseph Hebert, 69, a retired pipe stenciler and pipe checker with Shaw Group, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at his home in Denham Springs. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Visitation will be at First United Pentecostal Church, Denham Springs, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev. SPRINGFIELD - Armand " Pete" Edward Granger, 74, a longtime resident of Chicopee and Springfield, passed from this life, Friday August 26th, 2005 at the Chapin Center in Springfield. Born May 17, 1931 in Chicopee to the late Alfred and Caroline (LaFleur) Granger, he was a graduate of the Chicopee High School. Armand worked for over 20 years for Longview Fiber as a machinist. He then went on to work for over 15 years as the head of maintenance at the Springfield Country Club in West Springfield. Mr. Granger was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ann Victoria (Cupero) Granger. He is survived by his two devoted sons, Mark Granger of Springfield and Michael Granger of Westfield. Armand also leaves his loving siblings, John Granger and his wife Lucille of Chicopee, Cecile Joyal and Rita Larrivee both of Agawam, Theresa Stewart of Ware, Leona Troie of Chicopee, and two precious grandchildren, Madison and Mariah Granger. Armand was predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Alfred Granger Jr., and by two sisters, Rosa Girouard and Clarisse Stefancik. The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 8a.m. from the Forastiere Funeral Home, 45 Locust St. Springfield, with the Liturgy of Christian Burial to follow in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. The interment will follow in St. Michaels Cemetery. Francoise "Fran" M. (Gagnon) Bradley, 74, of Archer, FL, widow of Floyd P. Bradley, passed away on Friday (August 19, 2005), at her home. She was born in Willimantic on November 21, 1930 to the late Wilfred Gagnon and Marie Antoinette Dion. She was a graduate of Hartford High School, and attended Hartford College for Women. A resident of Windsor for many years, Fran was employed by St. Gabriel School and the Donegan Insurance Agency, both of Windsor, and as night manager for CIGNA's trading room in Bloomfield. She relocated to California in 1978, where she worked for CIGNA, and for 15 years managed a women's apparel shop in San Gabriel, CA. In 1995, Fran moved to Gainesville, FL where she enrolled in the local community college to enhance her computer skills in preparation to return to the business workforce. After completing the college coursework, she worked for Meridien Behavorial Health and then Bear Archery/Escalade Sports, retiring in 2002. A loving mother and grandmother, she leaves three daughters: Dr. Karen Bradley and her husband Dr. James Pettigrew, Jr. of Gainesville FL, Sandra Bradley Rios of Mystic, and Lisa Bradley Avalos and her husband Chris Haaga of San Carlos CA; and grandchildren: James Bradley Pettigrew of Gainesville FL; Juris Kupris of New York City and Larisa Kupris of Mystic; and Quinn Haaga, Grayson Haaga and Owen Haaga, all of San Carlos CA. Her brother, Wilfred Gagnon, resides in New Zealand. She also leaves several nieces and nephews, her loving friends, and her devoted caregivers. Beside her husband and parents she was predeceased by a sister Odette Gagnon Ryan and two brothers Andre and Laurent Gagnon. LOWELL -- Simone R. (McKinnon) Frechette, 79, died yesterday, Aug. 27, at her home after a brief illness. She was the wife of Marcel R. AILEEN MARIE PLOOF BURLINGTON — Aileen M. Ploof, 81, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, in Birchwood Terrace after a three year stay. She was born in Burlington, June 19, 1924, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Garrow) Ploof. Aileen will be greatly missed by all who knew her and enjoyed her friendship. She relished spending time shopping and carousing around the Church Street Marketplace and vicinity with her lifelong dear friend, Augustine Meunier and other acquaintances. She delighted in family gatherings and trips to camp on Lake Champlain. Aileen's pevious residence was the 10 N. Champlain Apartment Complex where she made many good friends. In earlier years, she had worked at the Burlington Dress Shop on North Street for 12 years, the Newport Mills as a seamstress for 13 years, and Maternities, Inc. for six years. She retired from Fletcher Allen Health Care after many years of service. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish. She is survived by two brothers, Paul C. Ploof of Richmond, and Harold and his wife, Pauline Ploof, of Arizona; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, Doria Parizo; three brothers, Donald, Harvey “Joe“ and Robert Ploof; her sister-in-law, Erliene Ploof; and brother in-law, Charles Parizo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with interment following in Resurrection Park, South Burlington. Christina (Pestana) Desrosiers, 87, formerly of Buxton Ave., Somerset, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Catholic Memorial Home in Fall River. She was the wife of the late Arthur N. Desrosiers, Sr. Born on November 9, 1917, in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Oliveira) Pestana. She was a resident of Somerset for over 20 years, having previously lived in Fall River. Mrs. Desrosiers worked as a machine operator for the C & C Drape Company in Fall River for over 20 years, retiring in 1980. She was a communicant of St. Thomas More Church in Somerset. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, the St. Thomas More retirees club, and the AARP of Somerset. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and reading. CHANDONNET, MRS. LYNNE ANN Wife of Bob Norton Shores 1-21-1947 - 8-26-2005 Lynne Chandonnet lost her battle with cancer Friday evening, August 26, 2005. She was married to Bob Chandonnet and together shared 40 years of marriage and family. They have two daughters and sons-in-law, Deanna and Michael McCloskey, Suzette and Anton Colon. Also, Lynne was blessed with two precious grandchildren, Bobby and Elena McCloskey and several animals she referred to as her children. She was sister to Terri and Charley Roesch and Fred and Penelope Holland, Aunt Lynne to many nieces and nephews, and daughter-in-law to Phyllis Chandonnet and sister-in-law to Craig and Loretta Chandonnet. Preceding her in death were her parents LaNore Camp and Kenneth Martin, grandparents Albert and Isabelle Anderson and father-in-law Larry Chandonnet. Lynne was the center of her family and many friends. This is where her energetic spirit lives. Lynne was multi-faceted and expressed her creative talents and vision in many arenas. Sculpture, painting, knitting, remodeling were only a few of her favorites. Her love for animals was like no other. She devoted 25 years to her hairdressing career- volunteering for Miss Michigan and Hospice. Lynne graduated Cum Laude from Aquinas College with a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education and a Minor in Art. She displayed her passion for children through her substitute teaching for several local schools. She was also the Design Director for Dune Harbor Development. Lynne's energy was abundant for her love of life and through her volunteer work. Her most recent project was the creative vision for the beautiful and successful Baby Pantry for Catholic Social Services. Other volunteer works consisted of Red Cross-Director of Catholic blood drives for Muskegon County, Board member of Catholic Social Services and St. Francis de Sales Parish Council, Eucharistic Minister St. Francis de Sales Parish. THE FUNERAL LITURGY will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Thomas G. Simons presiding, and the Revs. Fr. Michael P. Olson and Fr. R. Louis Stasker as concelebrants. Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Doiron, Merlin U. "Bob" A resident of Zachary and native of Morgan City, he died at his home Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005. He was 85, a U.S. Army veteran and later retired from Exxon Refinery. FALL RIVER -- Richard Leo Bastille, 61, of Pelham Street died at home Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005. He was the husband of Mary (Rigby) Bastille. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Leo Joseph Bastille and Helen (Desrosiers) Bastille. He lived in Fall River all his life. He attended Bristol Community College for two years, where he studied criminal justice. He was a physical security specialist for the government's federal protection service for 32 years. He also was a driver for adult day care for the past two years. Mr. Bastille enjoyed fishing, target shooting and traveling on vacations. He was an avid Patriots fan. Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Michelle Bastille of Fall River; three brothers, Maurice Bastille, Norbert Bastille and Raymond Bastille, all of Fall River; a sister, Annette Bastille of Tiverton, R.I.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be at 9:45 a.m. Monday at Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, with a Mass at 11 at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish at Holy Cross Church, Pulaski Street. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

AUBURN— Ruth A. (Williams) Morin, 77, formerly of South Street, a retired Auburn Library associate librarian, died Friday, August 26th in the UMass Memorial Hospital-University Campus, Worcester. Her husband, Gerald J. Morin, died in 1978. She leaves her four children, Suzanne R. Williams of West Boylston, Rochelle A. Morin of Beverly, Guy C. and Gregory P. Morin, both of Auburn, and six grandchildren. She was born in Northbridge, daughter of the late William and Celia (Lowry) Williams and had lived in Auburn for many years. She graduated from Northbridge High School and Clark University, 1949. Prior to her retirement in 1992, Mrs. Morin was an associate librarian for the Auburn Public Library, where she had worked for 22 years. She also was a columnist for the Auburn News for more than 2 decades, writing the "Off the Shelf" column. She was a member of North American Martyrs Church, where she served on the Board of Directors for their Women's Club. She was also a former member and secretary for the Auburn District Nursing Association, and was a member of the Clark University Alumni Association. She was a member and union representative for the Steelworkers Union. Saulnier, 90, of Derry, formerly of Salem, died July 28, 2005, at Haven Health Care Center, Derry, following a long period of failing health.Mr. Saulnier was born Aug. 7, 1914, in Methuen, Mass., the son of the late Edmund O. and Robertina (LaJeunesse) Saulnier. At age 4, he was a concert violinist. He graduated from Tenney High School in Methuen.Mr. Saulnier worked as a welder in the Boston shipyards during World War II. He then worked in the Arlington Mills in Lawrence, Mass. He was a resident of Salem from 1947 until 1999, when he moved to Derry.For close to 20 years, he was a poultry farmer. He was a lifetime lover of horses. He retired after working 10 years as a custodian at Salem High School.Mr. Saulnier was a former member of Mary Queen of Peace Parish in Salem, and was a communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Derry.He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Bertha D. Marie A, Soares Gravel, age 73, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Emile Gravel, died Friday, August 26, 2005, at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Mrs. Gravel was born in Bronx, N.Y., daughter of the late Emanuel and Antoinette Centrella Soares and had lived most of her life in the Bridgeport/Stratford area. She retired from 3030 Park Avenue, Bridgeport. EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Therese M. "Terry" (Carbonneau) Robillard, 77, of East Providence, formerly of Plain Street, Fall River, Mass., died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005, at Orchid View Manor. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of Rosario Carbonneau and Marie A. (Bergevin) Carbonneau. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and the former St. Roch's Church. She was a member, former president and vice president of the Women's Guild. She was a sewing machine operator at clothing manufacturers. Mrs. Robillard was a former member of Retirees 178 Oak Village, Flint Senior Center, and received the Marian Medal in 1985. She volunteered at various churches, where she worked in arts and crafts. Survivors include two nieces and two nephews; two great-nieces and three great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Louis E. Carbonneau. Her funeral will be at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at Boule Funeral Home, 615 Broadway, Fall River, with a Mass at 10 at Holy Rosary Church, Beattie Street, Fall River. SANFORD, Maine — Jennie L. Vachon, 96, of Sanford died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Newton Center in Sanford.Mrs. Vachon was born on Nov. 27, 1908, in East Haddam, Conn., the daughter of the late Augusta A. and Caroline L. Hall Carlson. For a short period Mrs. Vachon worked at the Bauneg Beg Nursing Home, but most of her working career was spent as a spinner at the Sanford Goodall Mills.Volunteering for the Sanford-Springvale Salvation Army was a vital part of Mrs. Vachon's life. She spent many years tolling the bells as a kettle volunteer, and serving her community. She loved to take long walks and solve word search puzzles.She was predeceased by her husband, Zoel; two sons, Charles Carlson and Roger Vachon; a sister, Frances Calhoun; and a brother, Gustaf Carlson.Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Hatch of Lebanon, Maine; her son, Joe Vachon of Springvale, Maine; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great great-grandchildren.An 11 a.m. graveside service for Mrs. Vachon will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2005, at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, Maine. Paul D. Broussard, 87, of Beaumont, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth. A native of Abbeville, Louisiana, he had been a resident of Southeast Texas since 1945. Paul was a retired Merchant Seaman having served in World War II, and he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. PAULINE MARY DUBUQUE GRAND ISLE — Pauline M. Dubuque, 76, passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, in Starr Farm Nursing Center. She was born in Grand Isle, Nov. 14, 1928, the daughter of Stanley and Mae (Fielding) Dubuque. She lived all her life in Grand Isle, working at various employments in the islands. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grand Isle. On Oct. 25, 1950, Pauline married Francis Dubuque. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2000. She enjoyed working on the farm, driving her tractor and mowing lawns. Her love was visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Francis, she is survived by her twin sons, Roland and his friend, Barbara Patno, of South Hero, and Ronald and his wife, Diana, of Grand Isle; grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Jason, Christopher, Carolyn, and Crystal; and great-grandchildren, Corey, Emily, Ashley, Hannah and Paige. Pauline is also survived by her former daughter-in-law, Linda Hanson of Charlotte; her brother, Frederick Dubuque and his wife, Dorothy, of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and sister, Helen Stevens and her husband, Gilbert, of Argyle, N.Y.; and many nieces, nephews and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents; her daughter, Lorraine; and a sister, Charlotte Breen. A special thank you to the staff at Starr Farm Nursing Center for the wonderful care given to Pauline.
