FALL RIVER -- Georgette Elizabeth Marie (Dubois) Newberg, 82, of Sakonnet Manor, Tiverton, R.I., and formerly of New Bedford and Dartmouth, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at St. Anne's Hospital in Fall River. She was the widow of Cmdr. Eric G. Newberg Jr. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, she was the daughter of the late George D. and Marie Anne (Boileau) Dubois. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church while living in New Bedford. She attended Catholic and public school in New Bedford and was a graduate of Kimball-Campbell Secretarial School. She also attended Southeastern Massachusetts University and University of Rhode Island. She was a Navy employee for 23 years. Mrs. Newberg was a volunteer for many organizations and served on many boards. She was very active with the Military Order of the World Wars, along with her husband. Survivors include five sisters, Germaine Smith and Yvette Toyfair, both of Lakeville, Therese Ghilardi and Mariette S. Imel, both of Freetown, and Jeannine Penler of Florida; five brothers, Paul Dubois of Freetown, George Dubois of Seekonk, Richard Dubois, Donald Dubois and Robert Dubois, all of New Bedford. Her graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2005, in Veterans National Cemetery, Bourne. Arrangements are by the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford.

Mr. Gallant lived in Coventry for over thirty years. A machinist for over thirty years, Ron retired from Universal Engravers, due to illness in 1995. Findlay, parents George and Laura Paterson, her beloved sister Doris Flack and grandson Terrance. Audrey was a proud, strong and independent woman who inspired all who came in contact with her. She was totally dedicated to the curling game; as a player, a worker and in later years, a tireless fan. BELFAST - Vincent E. Lavway, 75, died Wednesday morning, June 1, 2005, at his home in Belfast. He was born May 27, 1930, in Waterbury, Conn., the son of Lucille and Octave Lavway. He spent his childhood in Monroe, and later made his home in Jackson with his family, where he was a farmer and woodsman. He was a member of the Jackson Grange and a town selectman. His hobbies included reading, spending time outside and working with horses. He is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Marjorie Verrill; two daughters, Cheryl Herland and her husband, Bill, of North Andover, Mass., Sheila Woodbury of Greene; three sons, Dave Lavway of Jackson, Cecil Lavway of Hooksett, N.H., and James Lavway of Hooksett, N.H.; one brother, Arthur Lavway; four sisters, Jeanette Prescott, Dolly Strickland, Gloria Cross and Teresa Abbott. Vincent had nine grandchildren; and two great-grand-children. He was predeceased by one sister, Virginia Simon. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday, June 3, at the Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Born in Worcester on May 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Victor and Irene (LeBlanc) Lemay. He received a bachelor of science degree from Long Island University and his master's degree from Assumption College in Worcester.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Lemay was a social worker and a special education teacher.Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Joseph P. Lemay of Cambridge; his future daughter-in-law, Miriam S. LEZOTTE BEATRICE ROSE (SANSONE) 84, followed her husband Robert to heaven on June 2, 2005, just six weeks after his death April 15, 2005. Robert and Beatrice were married for 53 years and were able to live together in their own apartment until April when they went to a nursing home together. She was a loving wife and mother who raised seven children and helped her husband recover from a debilitating construction accident in 1971. She was a tournament bowler in her younger days and continued the sport until a series of health problems began 10 years ago and Robert took over care for her. She lost her hip and her ability to walk following an infection, survived a stroke during hip replacement surgery but was paralyzed on one side, beat breast cancer and lymphoma and, three months ago, survived the amputation of one leg. She endured it all, but did not with stand a broken heart. Beatrice was also preceded in death by her daughter, Carol; her brother, Anthony; and her sister, Evangeline. She is survived by daughters Barbara (John Patrick Miller), and Diane (Jim Bell); Sons Robert (Linda), Stephen (Kathy), David (Diane) and Dennis (Reanae); 12 grandchildren, Stephen, Adam, Danny, David, Rachel, John, Rebecca, Grady, Jennifer, Robert, William and Andrew; Sister-in-law, Jean; Niece, Patricia Sansone Driver and nephew Tom Sansone. She has showed us all the meaning of courage. Resting at the L.J. Mabel Monette Talluto Passed away peacefully on April 24, 2005, at the age of 86. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Vincent Talluto and survived by her loving children, Sam and Linda Talluto, Jim and Bonnie Talluto, Barbara and Jim Brockman, Carolyn and David White, Ron and Mindy Talluto, Dave Talluto and Jerry Talluto. Also survived by her brother Aubrey Burress and 14 beloved grandchildren and 13 beloved great-grandchildren. She will be missed very much. John C. Maheu , Chesapeake -- Cmdr. John Chaisson Maheu, U.S. Navy retired, 65, died June 1, 2005. Mr. Maheu was born in Waterville, Maine, to the late Francis Neal Maheu and Molly Desveaux Maheu. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for more than 24 years as a pilot. A 1962 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he received his wings in 1963 and earned his MBA from George Washington University in 1971. Mr. Maheu was a member of the Great Bridge United Methodist Church and the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association. He loved giving back to the community and was an active member of the Citizens for the Preservation of Rural Chesapeake and the Hickory Ruritan Club, where he was recently serving as president. He was also the recent secretary for the Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the National Association for Uniformed Services. Mr. Maheu was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Jo Raleigh and his brother, Jerry Maheu. Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Anne Howell Maheu; daughter, Suzanne Maheu of Stafford, Va.; three sons, Greg Maheu and his wife Linda of Powhatan, Va., Doug Maheu and wife Andrea of Annandale, Va., and John Paul Maheu and his soul mate Dierdre Swann of Stafford, Va.; and five grandchildren, Bryan, Gregory, Sabrina, Courtney and Chaisson. Morris Consolidated Schools for many years. She was a member of the Mt. Morris First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling with her husband for many years. Milly came to Sudbury in 1952 from Moncton, N.B. A woman of faith, she belonged to St. Stephen's On the Hill United Church. She had been a customer service representative and bookkeeper at local retail stores for 30 years, retiring in 1998. She was a Friend of Bill W. for 17 years. An accomplished bowler, she had been a member of the Canadian Bowling Association for 30 years. Milly was devoted to her loving family and she will be missed by her canine buddy Mugsy. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury on Thursday, June 2nd, 2005 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation with interment of the cremains in the family plot at St. John's Cemetery, Garson at 2:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. McLaughlin was born on April 5, 1925 in Val Rita. He worked as a lumberjack. He fishing and gardening. Mr. McLaughlin was predeceased by one baby son Joseph and two brothers Jim and Jos. He is survived by his wife Jeanne D’Arc of Val Rita; sons Jean Marc, Roger (Florence), Guy (Linda) and Normand (Rachelle), all of Kap and Edouard (Carole) of Val Rita; and daughters Blanche (Bob) Pregen of Iroquois Falls, Suzanne (Roger) Landriault, Rita (Claude) Gagné of Kap, Lise (Ben) Raby of Grégoire Mills, Joanne (Paul) Thiffeault, Yvette (Allain) Beausoleil and Patsy (Gilles) Thiffault, all of Val Rita. Also surviving are sister Line Néron of Kap, brother Fred of Montreal, 33 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Rev. Jacques Fortin officiated at the funeral service at Ste Rita. Mr. McLaughlin will be interred at the Val Rita Cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral director was the Guenette Funeral Home.

MILLS, Mary Isobel (nee Paul) In loving memory of Mary Isobel Mills (nee Paul), 94 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Thursday morning, June 2nd, 2005 at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. She was born in Cache Bay, ON and married Late John Wesley Mills in 1935. Mary loved her family, her church, cooking and baking. Mary was a charter member of St. Paul's United Church, Choir member and belonged to the Women's auxiliary. She had worked at Birk's Jewellers for 15 years after her husband's passing. Mary will be remembered for her wonderful smile and gracious personality. A woman of great faith, she lived the lessons of love as taught by Jesus as a good Samaritan and good Shepherd to all she met. As she is reunited with her husband and other loved ones, she hears those beloved words of the Lord "Well done good & faithful servant, enter yours is the Kingdom of Heaven".
