Maria Iolanda Giardini (née DiLoreto) November 10, 1924 - May 25, 2005 GIARDINI (nee DiLoreto), Maria Iolanda - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother and nonna, Maria Iolanda Giardini. In her 81st year, Maria Iolanda was taken up to our Lord, peacefully surrounded by her family, on May 25, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. Maria Iolanda, wife of the late Vincenzo Giardini, daughter of the late Pietro and Francesca DiLoreto. Loving mother of Maria and Diego Sebastianutti, Paul and Rita Giardini, loving and proud nonna of David and Lori Sebastianutti, Mark and Susie Sebastianutti, Vincent, Julie and Paolo Giardini. Sister and sister-in-law of the late Riccardo and Concetta DiLoreto, Pia Enrica and the late Ettore Petrella of Hartford, Connecticut, USA. Sister-in-law of Gina Pace and Elio Giardini of Pratola Peligna, Italy. Maria Iolanda is survived by many loving nieces and nephews in the United States and Italy. After immigrating to Canada as a widow with her two children and her mother, Maria Iolanda was both a mother and father to her children and grandchildren. She taught her family the values of hard work and determination even to her last days. She was a generous woman that always put her family and friends before herself. Resting at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Saturday and Sunday from 5-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers 5 p.m. Sunday. Né à Grand-Sault en 1970, il était fils de feu Victorie Levesque et de feu Elise Clavette. Il laisse dans le deuil, trois soeurs, Carmen Levesque et Edna Levesque de St- Leonard, et Gisèle Levesque de Moncton, un frère, Henri (Collette) de Siegas, un neveau, Victorie Thibodeau de St-Leonard, 4 nièces, il à été précédé dans la tombe par deux frères, Gilles et Gérard. E. Roger Matheson August 29, 1930 - May 24, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Sands Funeral Chapel (Duncan) Roger passed away May 24, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 29, 1930, he is survived by wife of 50 years Judy, daughter Nancy (and husband Ben Whiting), son Dan (and wife Holly), grandchildren Lukas, Sarah and Joseph and sisters Joan Svendsen and Dian Matheson. Roger was a realtor and long-time member of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. He operated a successful real estate property management and development company, Argus Estates. He was a lifetime member of the Westminster Club, a long-time member of the New Westminster Gyro Club and a recent member of the Chemainus Rotary Club. Roger was an avid boater and fisherman. Some of his favourite times were spent on the waters near his oceanfront home, crabbing and prawning and sharing his catch with family and friends. At his request there will be no formal service. At the family’s request, no flowers please. To honour Roger donations can be made in his memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

ROY, Louise Mary - Passed away at Parry Sound, Ontario, Thursday, May 26th, 2005 in her 100th year. Louise was born in North Tay, New Brunswick, February 11th, 1906 to James and Margaret Gourley. She is survived by her daughters Joan Biasucci; Sister Kathleen Roy CSJ both of Sudbury; Betty Courneene of Sault Ste Marie; Adrienne Ethen of Hong Kong; Frances Secord of Elliot Lake; and Louise Sunstrum of Calgary; and her sons the eldest, the late Onzie; Andre of Chelmsford; Robert of Barrie; Gourley of Toronto. Louise was predeceased by her loving husband Onzie in 1990. Lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. During the early years, Louise taught school in New Brunswick. She also worked as a secretary. Along with her husband she operated a General Store in Britt from 1933-1973 and did some supply teaching and Catechetical Instruction at the Britt Public School. She was an artist, a Church Lector, Play Director, Women's Advocate, President of the CWL and the Britt Senior Citizen Group. She also enjoyed gardening and creative writing. Louise will be remembered for her deep faith, love of family and the special spark and joy of life which she radiated. Visiting will take place on Sunday, May 29th, 2005 at the Holy Family Church, Britt from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Monday, May 30th at 2 p.m. Interment Holy Family Church Cemetery. Dora M. Duval -- December 17, 1915 -- May 26, 2005 -- DANIELSON -- Dora M. Duval, 89, of Seagrave St. died on Thursday at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. She was the wife of the late Gerald A. Duval, who died on May 3, 1989. They were married on June 8, 1940 by Fr. Mollard at St. James Church in Danielson. Mrs. Duval was born in St. Charles de Mandeville, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Louis and Eleonore (Perreault) Savoie. When she was five years old, she moved with her family to Danielson. She attended and graduated from the Mystic Oral School. Upon completion of her education, she was employed in the textile industry, sewing curtains. Mrs. Duval worked in the textile industry all of her life. She enjoyed crocheting and walking. While at the Mystic Oral School, she played basketball. She enjoyed league bowling, and mostly enjoyed being with her family. She was a communicant of St. James Church in Danielson. She leaves a daughter, AnnMarie Emond and her husband, Richard of Danielson; a sister, Jeanette Doyle of Danielson; three grandchildren, Renee Combs, Michele Mackedon and Darren Murphy; five greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce Murphy; three brothers, Dr. Donat Savoie, Eugene Savoie and Armand Savoie; and five sisters, Alice Bissonnette, Cora Grenon, Claire Poirier, Olive Pisesecki and Rosa Siniard. Funeral from the GagnonCostello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Church, Danielson. William A. Rossignol -- EVANS, Ga. -- William Albert "Billy" Rossignol, 93, whose ancestors played an important role in the settlement of Augusta, entered into rest May 23, 2005, at the Brandon Wilde Life Care Community. Mr. Rossignol was an active member of the Church of the Good Shepherd where he served on the vestry. He was a native of Augusta and graduate of the Academy of Richmond where in earlier years his great-grandfather was principal. Later he graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. Mr. Rossignol served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and upon completion of his duties in 1946, he married Carolyn Elizabeth Hinman, lovingly known as Betty and a staff member of the American Red Cross whom he met while in the Air Force. He spent a lifelong career in the banking field where he was a former vice president and senior officer at Georgia Railroad Bank. He is remembered for his professional banking expertise, as well as his delightful spirit of professional service. Mr. Rossignol was active in humanitarian endeavors, a Rotarian and was appreciated for his unrelenting generosity. He was humble, self-effacing about his accomplishments, except for the five times that he made a hole-in-one at the August Country Club, where he held membership. Mr. Rossignol was an active member of the Gertrude Herbert Art Institute where he served as treasurer and chairman and a member of the Augusta Art Institute. After retirement, Mr. Rossignol tapped a waiting talent and spent many hours creating canvas paintings as well as portraits. This talent is presently displayed as treasures on the walls of many homes in Augusta and elsewhere. During retirement, Mr. Rossignol taught portrait painting in Sparta, Ga., and to residents at Brandon Wilde even until his death. He is survived by a son, William A. Rossignol Jr. and wife Candace Colman Rossignol of Gainesville, Fla.; a daughter, Elizabeth Hinman Rossignol Evans and husband Dr. Robert Harry Evans of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Richard William Rossignol of Dubuque, Iowa, William Kyle Rossignol of Gainesville and Harry Nelson Evans of Virginia Beach; and five nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at The Church of the Good Shepherd with the Very Rev. Robert D. Fain and the Rev. Dr. Andrew J. Menger officiating. She received a bachelor of education degree from University of Maine, Machias in 1972. She taught at Milo Elementary for more than two decades before medically retiring earlier this year. Judy is survived by her devoted husband, Lou Dell'Olio, of the home; three daughters, Jerusha Scott, Annapolis of Nova Scotia, Kristen Coover of Brownville, and Allison Marino of LaGrange; two stepsons, Mark Dell'Olio of Wilmington, N.C., and Michael Dell'Olio of Bangor. Roland G. Courtemanche, 84, of Coventry Court, Merrimack, died Tuesday May 24, 2005 at the VA Medical Center, Manchester. Mr. Courtemanche was born in Manchester on April 29, 1921, a son of the late Albert & Virginie (Moquin) Courtemanche. He was the widower of Dorothy (Moran) Courtemanche. She graduated from Northeastern Clinton Central School, attended college and earned a bachelor’s degree. Deborah was an artist, an animal lover and a member of exotic animal rescue. EAST LONGMEADOW - Blanche F.C. (Hebert) Widmer, 102, formerly of 27 Dewey Street East Longmeadow, died Wednesday May 25, 2005 in Heritage Hall North, Nursing Home, Agawam. Born in Springfield on November 22, 1902 she was the daughter of the late Octave and Exilia (Pajotte) Hebert. She attended schools in East Longmeadow, was a resident there for 85 years, and communicant of St. Michael's Church. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Peter R. Widmer; a son, Eugene Widmer; and 3 brothers, Rev. Alphonse Hebert, Joseph Hebert, and Oscar "Ted" Hebert. Blanche is survived by 2 sons, Ronald R. Widmer Sr. and his wife Alice of East Longmeadow, MA, and Earle K. Widmer and his wife Barbara of Hermosa, SD; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Blanche's funeral will be Friday morning 9:00 a.m. at Sampson Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home, 21 Tinkham Road Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michel's Church, Maple Street, East Longmeadow. Burial to follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, State Street, Springfield. LINOK, Wiera (nee Kamenec). After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease, Wiera passed away on May 25, 2005. She joins her beloved husband Michael, who predeceased her in November, 2004. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Luba Linok-Kalimin, Nadia, and Michael, her sons-in-law Michael Kalimin and Pedro Pereyra, and her grandchildren; Michael, Nicholas, and Mark Kalimin, and Adrian and Alexandra Pereyra Linok. Wiera lived most of her life in Montreal; the latter two years in Toronto. Wiera was devoted to her family and church. She will forever be remembered for her generous heart and gentle ways. Her caring hands readily provided comfort, created magic in the kitchen and in the garden. Friends will be received at the Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lakeshore Blvd. W. David Charles Peneguy, age 51 years, beloved husband of Sarah Syrdal Peneguy, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in Union, South Carolina, after a sudden illness. He was the beloved son of Cynthia Hoffman Peneguy Couturier of New Orleans, LA and the late Richard A. Peneguy. He was a professional bowler and was a Senior PBA Tour member. In addition to his wife and his mother, David is survived by his daughter, Amanda Lynn Ducote of Kenner, LA; and his two sons: David Charles Peneguy, Jr., of Nashville, TN and Christopher Neal Lattie of Lacombe, LA; three grandchildren: Grace Elizabeth Peneguy of Nashville, TN, Cody Michael Ducote and Madeline Grace Ducote both of Kenner, LA. Additionally, David is survived by his step-father, John D. Couturier; and his sister, Elizabeth Peneguy Green both of Metairie, LA; and his brothers, Richard Allen Peneguy, Jr., of The Woodlands, TX, Mark Edward Peneguy of New Orleans, LA and Christopher Thomas Peneguy of Boca Raton, FL.
