RISK, Cynthia (nee Burton) - The family announces with sadness, the passing of Cynthia Risk of Calgary and formerly of North Bay. She was the loving wife of Jack Risk. Né à Gardner, Mass. le 5 août 1909, il était fils de feu John Goguen et de feu Marie Cormier. SMITH, Cyril Byron Lowe, Quietly, at his home in Beamsville, Wednesday, February 16, 2005, Cyril passed away in his 79th year. Born in Buffalo, New York on March 31, 1926, he lived there for the first few years of his life. When he was 5 years of ag e his family moved to a farm at Rosedene. He then moved back to Buffalo as a teenager to work with his father. Cyril married Betty and soon after went overseas. When he returned, he and Betty moved to Buffalo where he trained for his early years in t he electrical business. The couple then moved back to Niagara and built their first home in Beamsville in 1954 where they have lived ever since. Cyril began his own business in Vineland and he has successfully operated Cyril Smith Electric there for over 47 years. Cyril will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 60 years, Betty, his sons Michael and wife Sandra and Robert and by grandchildren Nathan and Courtney. Predeceased by a daughter Karen in 1990. Cyril was a faithful and very committed member at St. Alban's Church in Beamsville and was awarded the Order of Niagara. He was also an active Mason. BORBAY, James "Jim" D., Born May 2, 1922. Son of James and Sara Borbay, brother of the late Julia Gall & Katie Angi. Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2005, with the loving support of his devoted wife Dolly, the love of his life for al most 60 years, his son David J. Borbay (Diana) and his daughter Carol Roworth (Bud). Also lovingly remembered by his nephews Joe Angi (Sylvia) & John Angi, his niece Julie Hinich (Bob) and his dear companion and best friend "Duke". Mr. Borbay joined the Royal Canadian Air Force in 1939, serving as a Spitfire Officer and pilot who fought in the air during the Battle of Britain and was the only Canadian attached to the British Air Force in his group, the 126th Squadron. He returned to Canada in 19 44. Mr. Borbay was a man of many skills, including, electrician, supervisor, handyman and definitely "a man of honour". Friends are invited to attend a memorial service conducted by Father Peter Walton of St. Alexander's Roman Catholic Church at the H.L. DOWNEY, Brendan Joseph In loving memory of Brendan Joseph Downey. Sadly on February 16, 2005 at 12:37 a.m., Brendan slipped away after a courageous battle with cancer. GRAND ISLE - Gerald L. Beaulieu, 74, beloved husband for 49 years to Therese (Duplessis) Beaulieu, died Feb. 14, 2005 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by his family members. He was born Oct. 31, 1930, in Madawaska, the son of Vincent and Jeanette (Hebert) Beaulieu. He also had a stepmother, Annie (Pelletier) Beaulieu. He worked for Fraser Paper for 35 years. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, dedicated father and loving grandfather. CHICOPEE - Harold L. Drouillard, 78, of Langevin St., died at home Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Born in Novi, Michigan, he was raised in Novi and attended schools there. He had lived in Chicopee since 1971. Harold was a Navy veteran of WWII and remained in the Armed Forces in the Marine Corps and later in the Air Force. He served for 28 years and retired in 1973 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military career, he worked as an accountant. He was a member of the American Legion Post #292, New Ludlow Rd. in Chicopee. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Margot A. NEW BEDFORD -- Maurice J. Dupuis, 81, of New Bedford died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Cecile J. (Richard) Dupuis; they were married 58 years. Born in Acushnet, the son of the late Albani and Evelyn (Bourque) Dupuis, he lived most of his life in Acushnet and was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. He was a self-employed carpenter most of his life. Mr. Dupuis was an Air Force veteran, who served in World War II and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion Post 265 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His hobbies included woodworking, clock making and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Maurice Dupuis Jr. of New Bedford, Donald Dupuis of Jupiter, Fla., and Paul Dupuis and his wife, Kathy of Acushnet; four daughters, Susan Trahan and her husband, Donald, of South Carolina, Janet Vargus and her husband, Mario, of Rochester, Anna Crawford of New Bedford, and Paula Richard and her husband, Kenneth, of South Dartmouth; a sister, Rita Dubuis of Texas; nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews; and a godchild. CONSTANCE (GRUEBY) THIBAULT, age 69, a devoted, loving mother, friend and longtime Hingham resident, died a dignified and peaceful death at her home on Tuesday, Feb. 15th after succumbing to cancer. She was born in Cambridge and raised in Belmont, graduating from Beaver Country Day School. She attended Hood College in Maryland. She leaves three children; Mark Raymond Thibault, his wife Johnese (Sullivan) of Grosse Pointe, Michigan and their five children, Madeline, Catherine, Mark, Isabelle and Charlotte; Brette Harriman Swanson, her husband Kirk of Hamilton and their two children, Meredith and Caroline; Lauren Ormsby-Tribuna, her husband Paul of Norwell and their four children Christine, Bryan, Andrew and Paul, Jr. She leaves also her sister Nancy Grueby White and her husband Terrence of Cohasset and their seven children. In addition, she leaves twelve other nieces and nephews. Possessing a lifelong concern for those in need, Connie was an active volunteer with a desire to serve others. She dedicated time to the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry, Project Turnabout, the Hingham Council on Aging, and care for the elderly. She was also a member of the Hingham Catholic Women's Club and Opus Dei. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Saturday, Feb. 19th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham. Jean M. Trippler, 64, of 12230 73rd Ave., Chippewa Falls, died suddenly Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at Luther Hospital, Eau Claire.She was born April 25, 1940, in Chippewa Falls, the daughter of Henry and Marion (Delisle) Loiselle. She married Roger Wood on September 30, 1961, and later married Scott Trippler on December 29, 1984, in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Women of the Moose 770 and Holy Ghost Church.She is survived by her husband, Scott; five sons, Jeff (Sara) Wood of Chippewa Falls, Michael Wood of Madison, Todd Trippler of Chippewa Falls, Jeff (Tammy) Trippler of Indianapolis, Ind., and Lee (Tracy) Trippler of Eau Claire; two daughters, Nicole (Pete) Baribeau of Chippewa Falls and Jeanne (Dale) Crowell of Eau Claire; and nine grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Hailey, Pierce, Bailey, Brecken, Dillon, Aidan and Payton; and several special nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Leland, Vernon, Dale and Loren Loiselle; and two sisters, Joyce Christorf and Janice Clement.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2005, at Holy Ghost Church, Chippewa Falls. Rev. Edmund Doerre will be celebrant of the funeral Mass. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Chippewa Falls.Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 18, and until 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Horan Funeral Home, Chippewa Falls. Kenneth Mayne officiating.Memorial visiting hours were observed Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Ibert's Mortuary.A native of Charenton, a former resident of Glencoe and Franklin and a resident of Centerville for the past three years, Mrs. Collette died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at her residence.Mrs. Collette was the owner and operator of Terry's Supply in Glencoe from 1976 until 1992. She was loved by her family, friends and community.She is survived by her two sons, Scott Gewin and wife Candy of Many and Nathan Gewin and wife Elsy of Fulshear, Texas; two brothers, Curtis Nolan and wife Kimiko of Melbourne, Fla. and Terry Nolan and wife Karlene of Centerville; a sister, Audrey Ganglof of New Iberia and four grandchildren, Mariah and Scott Gewin II both of Many, Benjamin and Matthew Gewin both of Fulshear, Texas.Mrs. Collette was preceded in death by her husband, Vincey "Dago" Collette and parents, Elton and Olive Verrette Nolan.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Collette's name to Regional Hospice, 504 Jack Miller Rd., Suite 8, Ville Platte, LA 70586.Ibert's Mortuary Inc. of Franklin was in charge of the arrangements.

Robert G. Pariseau -- He was born in Manchester, N.H., on Oct. 16, 1921, a son of the late Albert and Beatrice (McLaughlin) Pariseau. He graduated from West High School in Manchester in 1940. He was an Eagle Scout and in 1938 attended the first National Boy Scout Jamboree in Washington, D.C. He also assisted with the flood relief of the Merrimack River in Manchester, N.H., in 1936.Mr. Pariseau served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942 to 1945, and during the Korean War from 1950 to 1952 attaining the rank of machinist's mate, first class. During World War II, he served on the 5th Fleet with the legendary Adm. William "Bull" Halsey, and received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Medal with three stars.Prior to retirement in 1984, Mr. Pariseau was employed at Polaroid in Waltham. Previously, he was employed at Nu Knit in Lowell, Max Lowenthal in Rochester, N.Y., and Leighton Machines in Manchester, N.H.Mr. Pariseau enjoyed woodworking, woodcarving, furniture building, sculpting, oil painting, golf, reading, and traveling to historic locations. He was a member of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, and the Mason's Ancient York Lodge AF & AM, and the Shriners.He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert J. Pariseau and his wife Sheila of Chelmsford; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth Pariseau of Lowell, and Christine Pariseau of Chelmsford.He was also the brother of the late Bertrand, Charles, and Leonard Pariseau and Nathalie Morin, all of Manchester, N.H. INDIAN ORCHARD - Ovila A. Paul, 93, of Indian Orchard, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 in a local nursing home. Born in Springfield and a lifelong resident, he was the son of the late Auguste and Celina (Tellier) Paul. Ovila was a retired (18) year postal worker for the U. S. Postal Service. He worked at the former Tapley Street facility. Ovila was an Army veteran of World War II. He served in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre and was awarded the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Ribbon. Ovila was a communicant of St. Jude Church of Indian Orchard. He was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the parish League of Sacred Heart and Holy Name Societies. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #277 of Indian Orchard; the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Post of Chicopee; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post of Ludlow. He is survived by a son; Marcel G. Paul of East Patchogue, NY; a brother; Gerald Paul of Indian Orchard; two sisters; Marguerite Tessier of Chicopee Falls; Helen Ducharme of Chicopee and several nieces and nephews. Ovilia was predeceased by his wife, Gilberte A. (Bouchard) Paul in 1995. The funeral will be Saturday morning from the Ratell Funeral Home 200 Main St., Indian Orchard at 9 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Jude Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery, Indian Orchard. NORTHBRIDGE— Arcelia Lucienne “Gram” (Pelletier) Mahoney, 91, of Mahoney Lane, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Her husband, William J. Mahoney died May 29, 1950. She leaves a son, Patrick H. Mahoney and his wife Elaine (Jones) Mahoney; a daughter, Kathleen M. Michniewicz, all of Northbridge; a brother-in-law, George F. Legassey of Richmond, VT; and two grandsons, David P. and Daniel M. Mahoney, both of Whitinsville; and 3 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister, Germaine G. Legassey, a son-in-law, Ralph “Brodie” Michniewicz, and a close friend, Theresa Scarborough. Gram was a devoted mother and grandmother, and provided a home filled with warmth and love. She was born in Ville Marie, P.Q., Canada, daughter of Telesphore and Virginia (St. Martin) Pelletier and was raised in the Farnumsville section of South Grafton. She moved to her home on Mahoney Lane in 1943. Mrs. Mahoney started working on her 14th birthday at the Fisherville Mill. She worked the soda fountain at Collette’s Dairy in Farnumsville, she was a sales clerk at Marcus’ and E.A. Sullivan’s, and also worked at Paul Whitin Mfg. in Rockdale. Later, Mrs. Mahoney was an L.P.N. at Grafton State Hospital for 30 years. Her funeral will be held Friday, February 18th, from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Whitinsville. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, February 17th, in the funeral home. Rabalais, Leonard Edward He died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at his home in Central. He was 68 and was retired and living with his family. Leonard proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force and will be buried at Port Hudson National Cemetery, Port Hudson. Leonard was born and raised in Moreauville, in Avoyelles Parish. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Charrier Rabalais, with whom he shared 48 wonderful years of marriage. He is also survived by his four children, Jonathan, Steven, Timothy and Jennifer Rabalais; three grandchildren, Dana Rabalais Gautreaux, Jeremy Rabalais and Amanda Rabalais; and three great-grandchildren. CHICOPEE - Clarence L. Provost, 82, of Casey Drive, Chicopee, died Tuesday, Feb. 15th at the Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburg, New York and lived most of his life in Chicopee. He worked as a machinist for the New England Container Co. in Chicopee for 49 years and retired around 1985. Clarence was a tank driver in the Army during WWII. He was a lifelong member of the Moose Family Center and Lodge in Chicopee, and enjoyed camping and outdoor activities. He was the son of the late Steve and Ada Provost. Clarence leaves his wife of many years, Olive (Bergeron) Provost; a son, Richard and his wife Carol Provost; and daughters, Elaine Tatro and her husband Don of Chicopee, and Diane and her husband Ronnie Szynao of Apollo Beach, FL. He is predeceased by his son, Larry Provost, who died July 25, 1998. Clarence also leaves his brother, Steve Provost; and a sister, Viola Talecio, both of Chicopee. A funeral service will be held Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Grise Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Assumption Church, 105 Springfield St., Chicopee, with burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery. PETERSHAM— Sr. Lillian St. Laurent, 89, of the Sisters of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin, of North Main Street, Petersham, died on Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Assumption Residence after a prolonged illness. Formerly known as Sister Marie-de-l’Ange-Gardien, she professed 71 years of religious vows. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, Sr. Lillian was the daughter of Elzear and Marie Louise (Parisien) St. Laurent. Her siblings have predeceased her also. She is survived by her Sisters in religion. Sister Lillian obtained both a Bachelor of Science and a Masters In Education from Rivier College. She spent 44 years as an educator before serving as a secretary and archivist at the Mother House in Nicolet. Upon her return to Petersham, Sr. Lillian performed community services and was given to the Prayer Ministry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Assumption Residence Chapel. Burial will be in the East Cemetery. Rita Chartier, 85, of Coventry Court, Merrimack, N.H., and a former longtime resident of Manchester, died Feb. 10, 2005, at Harborside Northwood Nursing Home in Bedford after a brief illness.Mrs. Chartier was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Manchester, daughter of the late Alfred and Dora (Janik) Sylvester.She was the widow of Philip H. Sherry Ann Trahan Breland, died Monday, February 14, 2005. She was age 41. She was born in Marrero, LA and lived in Gretna, LA for the past 20 years. She graduated from L.W. Higgins High School and worked for many years as a dental hygienist, and the past five years as a court reporter. Survivors include: her husband, Dwight Breland; her mother, Mary Trahan; her father, James Trahan Sr., two sisters: Dr. Tina Wells and Tammy Renojo; a brother-in-law, Michael Wells; a half brother, James Trahan Jr., two nieces: Haley (her godchild) and Hanna Wells; and one nephew, Tyler Renojo, all of whom she adored. She is also survived by another godchild, Leslie Olivier; and many loving cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was a free spirited lover of life, a talented musician, and a motorcycle enthusiast. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.
